I came across this place after I first moved to NY. I found a job at a Non-Profit agency"saving lives." My co-workers at the agency always bought food from this place and so I decided to one day try.
They're known for their chicken. I normally get it with rice and beans, maduros, and a side salad. Ask for their house dressing, it's oil, vinegar, and some lemon juice. It's light and refreshing.
In the morning, I always get a large coffee. It absolutely beats any other coffee I've ever got, and to make it even better it's less than 1$!!!!! Sometimes I treat myself and get some fried cheese with some fried salami. DIVINE…. The only quam I have is that I tend to order dellivery in the winter time, and the time it takes them to deliver ranges from 5 minutes to 1 hour. So I normally just end up walking over.
The food is cooked to serve. You normally see locals coming in around lunch time, police officers, teachers, construction workers….and in the background they have the TV volume up on high on a spanish channel.
But if you are ever in the South Bronx, for some reason or another…defiantely stop by here…
