  1. Owner of the establishment is very attentive and interested in making your experience at Tropix pleasurable. He contacted me right after I posted my review, inviting me to Tropix once again. It speaks volumes when the people managing an establishment take the time to listen to their customers ideas and put them into practice. Kudos!

  2. Tropix is am awesome place for great food, hanging out w a group of friends or just watching the game. Best day is Monday night.. the wings are awesome and 35 cent . I highly recommend the jack Daniels wings, personal favorite. Add that with the chips and guacamole and a fresh salad with carrots n celery sticks. Will make for an awesome meal.  The wings come in a basket of ten.

U like to drink? Well mondays are 2 for 1 special.. or just get a bucket for 4 or more ppl. Great neighborhood spot. Having been coming here for years now. Cool owner. Great vibe.

Grab your girl and go out on a Monday!!!

  3. Table service was awful so don't bother paying extra for it, it's not worth a dime when you have to keep getting up to the bar to order drinks and ask for water.  The dance floor is too small and the servers push and elbow people out of the way when they're walking back and forth.  Just overall a really crappy place, bad service and a horrible DJ.  The nicest person there was the guy standing outside the bathroom (why was he there?  I don't know, but he was nice).  You really have to go with a good group of people if you want to have a decent time here but that would also be like grasping at straws.

  4. They have a mirror behind their bar that at one section looks like the second part is much farther away than it really is.  I thought that was cool.  It seems this is a fancier place in Rego Park considering they have a dress code from Thursday-Sunday & I think even had age restrictions.  They have karaoke here every other week, which I attempted to show up for but if there's a sports game going on you will not be singing for a while.  I didn't get to see the book or try that out but the inside of the place is very nice & staff was friendly enough.  One of these every other Wednesday nights I'll be singing karaoke there one way or the other.

  5. Was here for the first time a few weeks ago. Right away my husband, and I were greeted by the friendly owner. We took a look at the menu, and decided to give it a try. The place was packed then agian it was a thursday night. Really liked the fact they had great prices for alcohol on certain nights and lot of upcoming events. Its a great relaxed chill atmosphere. People come to grab a drink after work and unwind or just hangout with friends. Service here was good. I liked the food and was so disappointed, I couldnt try their famous wings. I did my homework and read the reviews before lol.  I have to keep from fatty foods. Still, I went for the grilled chicken wrap was very good. Will be back agian hopefully this time can try their wings.

  6. My cousin hosted her 50th birthday in the upstairs "lounge" section of the venue on Good Friday.  I will preface this by saying if youre looking to watch the  game or if you need after work beers, Hookah and wings, come here.
Parking was easy to find along Saunders. The bouncers greeted us and were professional. The 1st thing that came to mind is that this place is in need of a renovation.

We ordered drinks from bartenders who seemed to work like magicians. Appearing and reappearing throughout the duration of the party. I guess our party size was unmanageable and it took about a hour to get 1 drink priced at $14.50. Yes. $14.50. I've never paid that for a Gin Mule in Manhattan. But Rego Park, $14.50. It was made well. Don't get me wrong. Very well. But not for $14.50. Wing platters were ordered in which everyone seemed to enjoy. Variations of flavors were ordered by the pound.

I will note that the DJ was phenomenal. Played a great mix of Reggae, Salsa,Reggaeton, Hip Hop and classics. Enough to get the dance floor…that doesn't exist… poppin.

The lounge portion needed updated light fixtures and ambiance is lacking here. The seating was good however…there were not enough tables or enough of anything.  Very outdated appearance. There were fake plants, bamboo walls and a AC with not enough freon to coincide with the "tropical" theme. It felt real tropical with the high powered fan on.  There isn't enough ambiance to  get me to return back for a night.

  7. Eventful neighborhood bar tropix is my go to spot to get together with some friends and munch on baskets of wings. I've been coming here for ages and still think they have some of the best wings in town. And on Mondays they special for 35 cents a wing!! Man you truly can't go wrong.
I love that's they have different specials every night of the week. Best bang for the buck sometimes. And don't get me started on the waitstaff girls… Aoooogaaah! They get better with the seasons.
And while on the topic of tropix girls.. They host an annual bikini contest which puts any place to shame.. Latin American beauties strolling up and down the bar wearing nothing but 2 piece that's held by a string.
Drinks are good, service can lack at times, but it's busy, so you know. Find a special night and get your group together.

And for goodness sake.. Try the Jack Daniels wings! You'll eat the bones

  8. Been here a few times with friends and have had a great time. The food is great (especially wings) and the staff is super friendly – even when the crowd gets super rowdy.
