  1. What an OUTSTANDING authentic Turkish and Mediterranean restaurant !

    The restaurant itself  has a really inviting and comfortable feel. They have a good amount of  tables with lovely cushioned benched seating that lined the wall. The beautifully decorated pillows fill the benches which make it extremely comfortable.

    We started with the cold appetizer ($15) for the three of us, which was the perfect amount. The cold appetizer is served with Babaganush, humus, ezme,  2 grape leaves, cheese and piyaz.
    The babaganush had an amazing smoked favorite! It was a great appetizer to share and gives you  good sample of some of their outstanding side dishes.

    As for the entrées we ordered :

    Chicken Adana;  was out of this world! Served with tomato bulgur (extremely tasty) and a side of mixed greens — this hardy grilled chicken "patty like" entrée is full of flavor and freshness; you will not be disappointed. Highly recommended !

    Chicken Gyro; the chicken was cooked to perfection with a light spice. I asked for my onions to be grilled which I thought made an excellent pairing to the chicken. The pita is so soft and fluffy but strong enough to contain this generous sandwich.

    — I completely forgot what my boyfriend order… but I know he loved it (;

    Turkey coffee ($3)  is  served in the most darling tiny traditional cup and saucer. It has a very deep taste which might not be for everyone but I do recommend finishing off a meal with it.

    Keşkül ($5); (Pudding with almond and rose water) was by far my favorite desert that I have ever ordered. I normally find that any dish with rose water is always to light and you can barely taste it but this was not the case here! the Keşkül was full of flavor, super smooth and with a light almond crunch.

    Baklava($5) is served as 5 small squares which made it great to share. I am personally not a fan of baklava just because of how sweet it is but this was perfection. The top layer was crispy but not dry and the honey was not over powering. This bite sized desert made a great ending to an already fantastic dinner.

    Service was accommodating and attentive. The gentle man there was very friendly and kind! He even joked around with us when the bill came because a friend and I were fighting for who was going to treat for dinner (;

    Overall it was a fantastic dinner and I cannot recommend this restaurant enough ! I've also read up that they have event nights and I will be sure to come back and check those out.

  2. Food was delicious.  The lamb was cooked perfectly, it didn't habe that lamb smell which is great!  Staff was friendly and attentive. It took a while for the food to come out but it was worth the wait.
    The place is kinda small and parking is really small. But other than that, great place!

  3. On a day off from work, I was in the mood for some Turkish food and Troy was a fairly local restaurant I have yet to try.

    Located off a pretty busy state route (Route #35), Troy is a nicely decorated restaurant with a fairly large number of four seat tables and multiple tables along the inside perimeter that pair with cushioned bench seating.

    Started off with the classic Hummus appetizer and it was really tasty.  Semi-smooth with a very slight grainy texture, what made the hummus noteworthy was the high quality of the olive oil used.  The supplied pita bread was pedestrian though and did not add or subtract to this appetizer.

    My Mixed Grill entree was presented beautifully with a combination of vibrant colors from the various proteins, salad, tomato infused bulgur rice, and two veggies (tomato & pepper).

    However, for the price ($25), I was hoping for a bit larger portion for some of the proteins (though the Chicken & Lamb shish had three nicely sized chunks each); unnotably there was only two small slivers of the gyro meat, one Kofte patty, and one Adana kebab.

    I can see where somebody with a larger appetite would still be hungry afterwards.

    Despite the portion issue, the entree was really delicious.

    Adana was superb; char-grilled beautifully and seasoned with a nice peppery flavor.  This was some of the best Adana I've eaten.

    Chicken Shish was very moist, again grilled to perfection and pleasantly ever so slightly sweet in flavor.

    Gyro meat was excellent too, very rich and flavorful with a nice crispy just charred edge.  I just wish more than two small pieces were provided.

    Kofte patty again very delicious.  Seasoned a bit more aggressively than the other proteins, the flavors were welcoming to my palate.

    Almost opposite of the Kofte, the Lamb Shish pieces were seasoned very simply with probably just salt & pepper.  Good decision, as this allowed the tender lamb chunks to impart a very light yummy gaminess.

    Tomato-infused bulgur rice and salad were both really fresh and helped curtail the heftiness of all the rich proteins on the plate.

    Service was courteous and pleasant.

    Definitely a place for those looking for a nice Turkish meal.
