Best pizza in town. Highly recommend the Verace pizza. Words cant do it it justice.
Came here for their happy hour and they had really great blue point (spelling?) oysters
I was able to sit by the front entrance area and still have our dog by us. It's more of an outside seating.
The service was excellent. I am a huge fan of their dessert selections and especially loved the creme brûlée.
Will come back again to try their pizza!
One of LIC's new hidden gems. We came here for a date and were treated like family.
The place exudes ambience. Sort of a modern twist on a rustic Italian kitchen kind of feel. Very clean, with a warm, friendly, and inviting atmosphere that makes you want to stay there and eat pizza and drink wine all night.
The food was excellent. We got the veal meatballs, the mushroom ravioli, and the verace pizza. Each thing was better than the next. Fresh ingredients bursting with flavor.
The service was outstanding. Our waiter kind of spoke to us here and there in Italian and it made the experience feel super authentic. The restaurant staff was very attentive and friendly.
Overall, just a solid little Italian kitchen with great ambience, excellent food, and amicable service. We will be coming back.
I attended this restaurant when it was Testaccio. Nothing particularly special about the restaurant however the service was great. I had spaghetti bolognase and it was fine. I would definitely check it out since they seemed to have renovated and moved.
The reincarnation of the restaurant Testaccio (full disclosure: I never went.)
Really good, server was hamming it up with the Italian thing but hooked us up with great food. I had the oxtail stew and she had the porcini ravioli. The porcini ravioli blew us away. No other sort of mushroom preparation we've ever had has tasted like that. Obviously it was denser than just having the whole mushrooms in there because it was ground up into ravioli. Whatever magic went in there was amazing. It is not normal. Try it today.
The oxtail was just ok, but the portion was amazing. There was a baby's head of mashed potatoes next to three giant sections of oxtail. It needed to simmer just a bit longer.
Overall I had a great time and would come back. It seems very authentic.
Eccellente!!
Really impressed by this place. The Cacio e Pepe dish was amazingly rich and delicious.. reminded my husband and I of our Italian honeymoon (they earn 5 stars just for that)!! It may also have been better that the version I tried in Rome! The menu offers a wide budget, serving simple dishes like pizza pies to a bit more graduated Italian fare.. lots of pasta options, meats and seafood. We also had the seafood platter with the branzino filet, grilled calamari and shrimp. The fish was delicate but very flavorful, and the calamari was not overcooked or too chewy. The shrimp was also excellent, but we had wished there were more of it on the plate (only comes with two pieces). The salad with julienne slices of fennel was refreshing and delicious.
The decor is modern and rustic, and the service was fabulous. The food has got to be authentic as the hostess, manager and other personnel we spoke to that night, all had faint Italian accents.. molto bene! I'd love to come back maybe to host a birthday or private event in their upstairs seating area.
I absolutely adore this restaurant- even before the relaunch! My husband and I had our engagement party here and the staff was so amazing! The food was delicious then and still is!!
When we were there a few weeks ago, we were greeted by I believe the owner. He was an incredibly friendly and even helped entertained our son during the meal. This is hands down a family friendly restaurant so make this place a destination.
We started with the $1 special oysters!!! Those bluepoints were amazing! Then ordered a pizza, osso buco special and the scallops special. Everything was prepared and cooked to perfection. The wine selection is exquisite!
