After being burned by the Williamsburg Smorgasburg (I have to remember that too many annoying people crammed in too small a place is pure hell), we stumbled on this place by accident. It was a happy find.
For Brunch on Saturdays you get an entree (great portion size) + a bloody mary/mimosa/beer/etc., for $16. Great deal! If you'd like, you can pay an additional $9 for your drinks to be bottomless.
The vibe here seems pretty good. Other people have commented it's hipstery, which…well…Williamsburg, but I didn't think it was that bad at all.
I would go back here if/when I find myself in the neighborhood again. I do suggest sitting inside though if you're going to do the bottomless option. It's easy to be forgotten if you're at an outside table.
i'm not gonna lie, my burger, (the tavern burger) was delicious, Thats where the three stars come in. When I arrived the restaurant it was practically empty except for the employees walking around. teh bartender looked right at me but didn't think to summon a host to come help me. I waited a little too long finally a hostess walked in my direction and stood at the booth in front of me, I had to wait another 5mins for her to finish her phone call and just for her to tell me that even though the place was empty she couldn't seat me (1 of a party of two) until my better half arrived. service was not great, but i've seen worst. it was like the staff took an oath not to smile at all. Our waiter was the most low energy, no smiling, minimal effort waitress i've seen in a while. like i said before, my burger was good, but my drink was pretty gross, it was a raspberry peach bellini and it had a marchio cherry in it, it tasted like cheap juice from a juicebox and old used gum. then my boyfriend ordered the Steak Frites, which where supposed to be cooked medium but was well, well done and was so salty that it was inedible. suffice to say he didn't eat the rest.
its a shame because the ambiance was so nice and so was the burger, but i'm not going to waste my time/$$ coming here again
I am a fan of this place. Me and my friends were starving for some food after a good 3 hour solid drinking session. I ordered their Buffalo Chicken Tenders ($11) and absolutely loved it.. Their portion size is quite generous, so don't be confused by the fact that this is listed under small plates. I had this by myself and was stuffed in the end..
My friends the classic chicken salad ($14) and chicken parm (not the sandwich, but they accommodated our request to get it as a pasta instead, $14)…
Service was good and we were seated immediately. We went here at about 5:45 pm on a Saturday evening, and the place was moderately busy.

Randomly found this bar while roaming through Williamsburg one day after brunch and very glad I did. They have a very well crafted drink menu which provides a unique experience. As a fan of whiskey my eye was automatically drawn to the "Sugar and Spice". Not only was it strong, it was full with notes of citrus and cinnamon. Old fashioned with a modern twist is what I look for when glancing over the cocktail menu.
With drinks I also needed a quick bite to eat and opted for the Red Velvet pancakes. It was more like dessert as it's extremely sweet but it was very good!
Really good brunch. I came here after deciding battling the lines at Smorgasburg wasn't worth the hassle. The breakfast burrito was delicious. Often, breakfast burritos are very heavy on eggs and potatoes, but this one was stuffed with chorizo. I actually had to dig to find a potato. It was delicious.
The brunch entrees come with coffee and a mimosa (or bloody mary, if that's your deal). You can also opt for bottomless mimosas for $9. I stuck with the single mimosa, which had a great balance of champagne and orange juice.
Service was a little slow, but not too bad. The waitress brought my check before I had my coffee– that I had to ask for– which I don't like. But since the coffee was pretty bad, maybe she was trying to spare me the disappointment.
I went to Two Door Tavern for dinner and drinks with three friends on a Wednesday night. I liked that it was easy, with a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of options for food and drink. I could easily imagine this place doing well as a chain restaurant.
We got a table on the upper level of the tavern, with a view of the bar and patrons downstairs. It was kind of loud, but not terribly so. Service was okay, mostly fine, not quite attentive. One thing I really did not like–I was undecided on whether I should order a burger or the rigatoni, and when I asked the waitress her opinion, she neglected to mention that it was $5 burger night. I ended up getting the $17 rigatoni and feeling like an idiot. My fault, I guess, since the $5 burger special was noted somewhere I could see it, but I would've thought that was relevant information she could've relayed without undue difficulty.
The rigatoni was pretty good, though. The pasta was cooked to the right texture, with a nice tomato basil sauce and plenty of sweet Italian sausage, spinach, and fresh mozzarella. Everything about this was quite satisfying, and the portion was generous. It came with some herbed garlic bread on the side. Don't know that it was $12 better than a burger, but at least it was a decent dinner. I'm not entirely sure why, but I ordered a bloody mary to drink with my dinner, followed by a beer. Both were fine, I think. The bloody mary was forgettable but not bad, and I don't remember what beer I got.
There was nothing particularly compelling about Two Door Tavern, but it was a serviceable place with a casual vibe, solid food, and apparently, a $5 burger night. I'd probably go once in a while if I lived in the neighborhood, if I wanted a drink or a meal out and didn't have other ideas.
We came here for a friends birthday in January on a whim. What a great spot to stumble upon. The food was excellent, I had a cheeseburger and my husband had the same, they had a great selection of beers to choose from and we even had our almost own private loft area in the restaurant. The only negative would be the bathroom was all the way down in the restaurant and after drinking most of, if not all day that became an issue, but that is my only complaint (if you can even take that as one).
Next time I'm in Brooklyn I will definately come back and recommend to anyone that is in the area!
Great spot! Easy to get a res for dinner on a weekend, and the inside has nice ambience and lots of different areas to sit in.
I shared the sweet potato fries to start, then the fried chicken (decided on this after we saw the table next to ours devouring theirs) and uptown salad. The fries were amazing and came with delicious dipping sauces. The fries chicken, which came with potato wedges and grilled corn, was excellent. I thought the corn lacked flavor but the rest was awesome. Loved the salad, too. It ended up being more than enough food for 2 people!
