This is a superb new restaurant that has opened in the Flatiron district, and I recommend it highly. The cured meats are a must, plus the meatball appetizer. I had the cannelloni ragu, which was absolutely nuts, and the chocolate biscotti for desert is amazing, too.
The decor is nice and quiet, not one of these loud places that tries to get a "hip vibe" going with tons of music. We also had an extremely friendly server. When one of us thought the dessert came in a different form, they cancelled it out and brought us a new one.
One weird thing: it's located underneath a massage parlor of some sort, and the signage for this is off-putting. But you don't really see it when you're in the restaurant. Reminds me of this Italian restaurant I went to in Los Angeles, which was located next to a sex shop. Yuck!!! An unwanted juxtaposition. Hope they can do something about the unsightly signage of the other establishment.
I just ordered seamless from here. The bread was very good, something I would have had in Italy. The paparadelle with oxtail ragu were awful. Overlooked, lumped together pasta and a flavorless sauce. Gross!
