  1. Was in the mood for some apps before a late dinner and this was a great find! Booked on Open Table and it was 1000 points too!
Lovely setting inside that is right beside the Queensboro bridge down 59th before 1st Ave.

Was there for the tail end of happy hour and got some wine, the charcuterie platter and the caprese sliders. I loved the sliders, perfect snack size and cute presentation.

  2. I live pretty close to this place and came for dinner and had wine and tapas on a Saturday night. Though I can't say there's anything extremely special about the place (it's a pretty standard wine bar with decently priced though average food), it's very cozy and will provide for a nice, intimate dining experience. Though it can't be compared to some of the more eclectic or unique spots in East Village or Chelsea or elsewhere, it's a nice find for a chill dinner in the Midtown/Upper East Side area.

  3. I was excited to try this place because of all the reviews and the decor seems alluring. It was not as close to the station as I expected and I almost got lost because Yelp says it is at 2nd avenue. It is actually closer to 1st avenue so keep that in mind, folks!

I was greeted by a nice hostess with a great smile – a must for any place! There were only two tables filled. Well, it was a Wednesday so it figured, I guess. Cute decor and friendly staff. What disappointed me was the lack of options for happy hour. I guess I was expecting more since other places I've been to for happy hour usually have a more extensive menu. Maybe it's because the place focuses more on wine and tapas.

In any case, my friend and I ordered three small plates:
Ortolana Flatbread Pizza, Duo Sliders, and the Sicilian Meatballs. Honestly, all three were nothing out of the ordinary. What I really liked were the fries that came with the sliders. They were sprinkled with some delicious seasonings and paired with a yummy dipping sauce. I asked for an extra sauce to dip my meatballs into.

Something did bother me a little and it wasn't about the food.. The person who delivered the food all night seemed to be one of the cooks. He came straight from the kitchen, didn't stay at the front of the house..and was wearing an apron but no chef uniform. I found it a bit off. He was delivering plates to other tables as well. It got me thinking – where the heck are the waiters? Our waiter seemed to only be concerned about serving our drinks.

I would not go back given the distance and the mediocrity of the food. Price wise also – it's not worth it. Maybe if I lived in the area, I'd stop by once a year. Nothing to rave about, in my opinion.

  4. My dear friend and I had not seen each other in months and chose this place as a nice spot to unwind with a glass of wine and some good grub after a long day of work. They have a great list of snacks and drinks on the happy hour and have a great selection of beers for Oktoberfest. I had the house Pinot noir and herb fries from the happy hour that were both delightful. My friend and I shared a croque Monsieur and asparagus wrapped in prosciutto along with a kale and quinoa salad. The Monsieur had the perfect balance of cream and crispy texture to the toast. The asparagus was grilled nicely and the prosciutto added a nice flavor to it. The kale seems baked which I loved and had a pesto garlic dressing I really enjoyed! A great place to meet up with friends after work and the ambiance is modern chic which creates a great escape after a hectic work day:)

  5. In from Chicago I was looking for a mid priced tapas experience.  I was tasked with finding good dining mid-town and was hoping this place would not be a dud.  The location is interesting- the service was terrific, the atmosphere was great/aired on the side of romantic.  The meal itself was good, the sangria worth the price.  Overall Uncorked earned its 4-stars for me!

  6. Really delicious tapas and a fantastic selection of wine.  This is definitely a date spot – it's very dim inside and my friend and I were surrounded by canoodling couples.  Luckily for us, we had enough wine to not make us feel uncomfortable here.  The service was fantastic as well.

  7. The best thing about this place is the warm and lovely service, both the hostess/waitress and the bartender were super sweet, friendly and made us feel really welcome. That alone makes this place a head above the rest. But add in the hostess' gorgeous accent and it puts it over the top. 😉

One of each red/white/rosé on the happy hour menu for ~$8 each. There was also a special cocktail and at least one beer. The day I was there was also tequila cocktail day. I did not partake but there were favorable reports 😉

Shared a nice chefs choice charcuterie/cheese plate. It was a nice selection, with little extras like cornichons and mustard. Nice choices and was a sizable amount for two.

It's a smaller place, but the seating just inside the open front or in the back alcove seemed the best. Nice sized chairs and banquettes were really comfortable.

Great for a casual get together.

  8. I used to live a few blocks away from Uncorked and I looove wine and tapas, so I really miss this place! It's a really cute atmosphere, and the food is actually all excellent. We have had the truffle mac and cheese, the cuban sandwich, the sliders, and the shrimp. Everything was really good, that I remember. Also, the cocktails are really female-friendly so they were right up my alley (sweet and crafty). My boyfriend didn't love the place as much as I did, so take that for what it's worth!
