“I have gotten a few different things, but my all time favorite is the Chipotle Seitan Wrap.”

“The coconut flavor didn't come through as much either but the dish itself was seasoned well.”

“But I would definitely come back for the bandeja paisa and to try their empanadas and dessert.”

  1. The food was better than expected, but there were enough issues, SO I won't give this place 4 stars. Food: Spring rolls (missing mint, so lacked the flavor I am familiar with), dipping sauce was yummy. Spinach burrito was tasty (per my date).

    1. The waitress was annoying, rushing us to order, but didn't even bring enough utensils/cutlery to the table.
    2. Glass of wine had CORK residue in it, yes cork.
    3. Spring rolls were tasty, but not awesome. They didn't need the sesame seeds, but presentation was nice.
    4. Waitress kept coming back at the wrong time, when we needed her she disappeared, but the place is small….so…………..
    5. Place is a little small, but it is understandable. At least you aren't bumping into people who are seated behind you (like in some Asian/Asian Fusion restaurants).

I will try it again, hopefully, the food will be just as good, with a different waitress. ANNOYED.

  2. I've been to VSPOT maybe 1.5 years ago and I remember enjoying my experience better than when I just went. The chicken cutlet hero was pretty average, it was a pretty standard fried center with red onions that give it most of the flavor. The philly hero tasted mostly oily.

Not sure why my experience this time around wasn't as great, but if I recall correctly, they might have had a different menu back then (I think).

  3. Have been to their parkslope location once but always grab a bite from them whenever they're at events. Love their empanadas with hotsauce, yum!

  4. Food: vegan, gluten free options with a Latin twist …French fries are great.. I've tried the quesadillas and Blt.. Blt was my favorite with tempeh. Fresh juices and smoothies available too, also organic wines

Service: the staff is really nice and helpful, but they seem to be short staffed at times

Ambience: casual, relaxed.. Nice outdoor patio for the summer

I've been here several times and will definitely be back

  5. Love love love!!!! This place! So you eat and then you eat again and we constantly keep moving and feeding our bodies, but every once in awhile you meet a food experience that you just can't stop thinking about….! I visited the V-Spot a week ago and everyday since then I have been dreaming about the food and contemplating my next visit.

First off get the empanadas and use the hot sauce! I mean my goodness it's good! It's almost too good to be vegan but it is! Secondly get the avocado fries…! Wow just wow! They come with a great dipping sauce that my taste buds still can't figure out! It's almost got a tart quality that perfectly cuts the fat of the avocado fries! Great compliment to each other.

Now to the part I can't stop dreaming about… I ordered the portobello mushroom salad with Caramelized walnuts and cashew cheese… Wow… This is probably the best salad I have ever had in my life. I didn't miss the meat at all. This salad was so tasty and perfectly balanced. Absolutely delicious! – GET THIS! (Thank me later)

Now to desert I personally love vegan ice cream! I think it taste better than the real thing. Add a chocolatey, fudgey, vegan brownie to the mix and my friend you've just eaten vegan heaven! Time to plan my next trip to the V-Spot! (Service is great, and the prices are right)

  6. Every time I look at their Yelp page I shake my head at their 3.5 star rating. I just can't believe it. I have always had a 5 star experience. The only negative in my opinion is that it's cash only. This really irks me because it is 2016, and no one carries enough cash to cover a bill here.  You have no choice but to pay the atm fee, and if you're addicted to CC reward points like me, you are forced to forgo them. Ok. So there, that's the only negative.

Service: stellar. My number one pet peeve is an empty water glass. No worries here! They bring you a bottle so you have plenty, and they kept a watchful eye for when the bottle ran low. As soon as a plate was clean, our waiter came by to grab it. They give the perfect amount of attentiveness. I was able to enjoy my conversation, but never felt as if I was forgotten. They seem to be aware of those subtle cues you give when you need something.

The food is where it really shines. I loved everything I tried. The appetizer sampler is huge, definitely a meal for two by itself. My friend happens to be pretty hard to impress with food, and he raved about it, and was willing to go to the same place two days later when I suggested it. That spoke volumes! I really loved the philly steak empanadas, the wings, and the chicken parm sandwich, although as I said everything was delicious. Even though we were stuffed, we had dessert which was some ice cream, warm cookie, Oreo concoction. Heavenly. I opted to walk home despite freezing temps because I ate way to much the first time. The second time I ate less!

If the 3.5 stars has you on the fence, ignore it and go!

  7. Vspot has an attractive concept, especially for a Latin food lover like myself that also happens to be a vegetarian. Once I'd heard about their avocado fries I made it my duty to stop in and give them a try.

I walked in around 430 on a Sunday and was greeted by the bartender, Jason. I originally was going to order take out but decided to pull up a stool and eat in at the bar. Vspot doesnt offer much decorwise, its basic with seating for around 20. I was told they have outdoor seating as well but the area wasn't setup as of yet.

Jason was friendly, had great conversation skills and was helpful with explaining items on the menu. They have a ton of options and I decided to start with a drink, a whiskey ginger. Jason made this perfectly, it was delcious and strong but balanced. A nice mix of Jameson and Jamaican ginger ale. Two of those and I was giggling to myself.

Like I said before, I was adamant on trying their avocado fries. I'd also heard good things about their vegan empanadas so I was hype to order those. The avocado fries were amazing! Crunchy, with the most ripe, creamy avocado filling!! The accompanying mayo was a great compliment too, tangy in all the right ways. Jason informed me it was a mix of their house salsa and vegan mayo, simple but it had a nice flavor. The black bean empanada I ordered was stuffed! Lots of beans and plantain but was pretty dry and lacked flavor. The accompanying salsa verde was spicy! A lil too spicy for my liking. Jason suggested their vegan sour cream instead, he said he loved it with the black bean empanadas and boy was he right. I loved it too! The flavor was reminiscent of macadamian nuts which omg was so good.

I also ordered a side of curried kale and chickpeas which was delicious. The chickpeas were cooked perfectly, soft to the bite and the kale was great. Everything was seasoned just right. The coconut curry sauce it came in didnt give much curry flavor but lots of color. The coconut flavor didn't come through as much either but the dish itself was seasoned well.

Jason hooked me up with some complimentary pistachio ice cream that was absolutely delish. It was creamy and soy based, which definitely isn't my usual but was worth it. Sweet and creamy with the right amount of crushed pistachios mixed in, it was delectable. I would definitely bring my husband here for a date night. Great vegan eats and enjoyable, fairly priced drinks. I will be back

  8. My best friend and I came here on Tuesday evening and it was wonderful!
CASH ONLY. But they have an ATM on site.
The server we had was super friendly, but I can't remember her name 🙁
We shared a bottle of the Tempranillo, which is organic (if you care) and was a lovely accompaniment to our meal.
This place is moderately priced and the food is fantastic.
We each got an order of summer rolls, split the buffalo chicken strips (sooooooo good and ridiculously close to the real thing) and I got steamed vegetables as a side along with the curry kale chickpeas (I think that's what it was called) each were lovely. The steamed vegetables come with a very nice light vinaigrette dressing.

I would ABSOLUTELY come back here.
This place has everything you could ever want– a great cocktail list (definitely trying the jalapeño margarita next), juices and smoothies along with excellent vegan nosh.

Next time I would order less so I'm not so stuffed and have room for dessert 🙂
