“It's incredibly charming and cozy, and perfect for a light dinner followed by coffee and dessert.”

“Like everyone else is saying, the Brown Derby is the best dessert, but they're all tasty and worth a try.”

“The starry night mural on the wall is beautiful and the mismatched furniture and bookshelves make the restaurant feel homey.”

  1. I absolutely love the feel to this place! Since living in DC I have missed hanging out in coffee houses with that "fee" to it. Van Gogh is as close as it's gotten! The food is delicious and the hot drinks are…mmmm

They have free wifi- just ask your server for the password.

The servers are pretty chill but they get the order right and food comes out at a reasonable amount  of time. The decor has that laid back artsy feel with paint in the walls, couches, and small tables. There are a few bigger tables available if needed.
The place is awesome! Check it out:-)

  2. Come hang out for hours at this garage sale looking coffee shop.  The drinks are delicious and come in outrageous flavors like the vanilla banana latte and ginger snap latte ranging from $5-6.  Ehh the food you can pass on. Small bites for small hipster appetites. They have games in the back to help you spend your time while you sit back and relax. Live music on Tuesday and Sunday too!

  3. Wonderful little find in Union!  Cute hobbit hole with a comfy and relaxed atmosphere.  The tuna melt I had was great and my coffee mugs made me happy!  Would recommend to anyone needing comfort on a trip or in life!

  4. I'm visiting NJ for the holidays and I was catching up with a few friends when they suggested this spot. We really wanted to see the live jazz band but that's only Tuesdays and Sundays 🙁

Nonetheless, we had a great time– very cute cafe in Union, NJ. The atmosphere is super chill and the menu is fantastic. The walls are artsy and they include the famous starry night on a big chunk of the space. They have couches and tables, depending on your preference. It almost has a little bit a Central Perk vibe 🙂

They also have board games, including the classic UNO and scrabble (just make sure to ask for the letters at the counter). It'd be nice if they had more upgraded games but the two did the job.

The background music was mostly acoustic and not too loud, which we appreciated. We were able to have a conversation without screaming across the table. The coffee and pastries were great, though a bit pricey.

After living in DC for a few years, I've been spoiled with tons of hipster coffee shops near me but It's a little bit of a mission to find many in Jersey. I really wish the Garden State had more little Van Gogh's cafes around. Big fan, I'd definitely come back.

  5. Savory sandwiches and great ambience! When I went there was a band playing so it was a bit hard to talk/hear. Walls are decorated with various pieces of artwork, true to the place's namesake. It's in the downtown part of Union, a lively area, with parking at a nearby lot.

  6. Service was a little slow, but my friend and I were in no rush. I love this place. It's hipster. It's cute. It's quaint. It's good for long conversations with friends. It's good for dates. I saw a few people with laptops, but it was more of a cafe with menus than a Starbucks coffee shop. I loved the artistic feel and nobody judges you if you act like a tourist taking a thousand pictures of their decor, mural, drinks, and furniture for Snap Chat or Instagram. I think everyone does it. Just do it. Don't feel self-conscious.

The service took a while, but they were friendly about it and let us know a head of time that it would be a while. I don't usually drink coffee, but I got the banana latte (under their specialty drinks I think) and it was SO GOOD. You could taste the banana, you could taste the coffee and it went to well with whatever else they put in there. It was also huge and filling. I loved it. If it wasn't so far away, I would definitely be a regular!

Next time I go, I want to try their food. A few tables ordered some delicious looking dishes!

  7. Love this cafe. It's cozy, romantic, so intimate, a place to make memories and get your caffeine buzz on. The murals are a wonderful re-creation of Van Gogh's "Starry Night", and adjacent walls pick up the rolling hills of wheat from the painting, it's very well executed, kudos to the painter and the owners for the design.

They have a truly wonderful array of caffinated beverages, sandwiches and light snacks that cater to many tastes, including many vegetarian options.

The seating is varied and conducive to intimacy or small groups, creating intimate spaces using plants and wing chairs (my favorite spot) to really create a nice atmosphere no matter where you sit.

If you're amongst friends or cultivating a budding romance, this is the best spot.

    Thanks for the memories BT

  8. Nice small cafe with good food as well as baked items. Very nice staff. Fairly priced, with attractive decor.

Kudos to them for having live music and other entertainment.
