  1. They have really artisan ice cream, you really taste the flavours!
With the regular size you could get 2 flavours and 3 with the large!
I had the pistacchio, strawberry and cookies and cream; all three were tasty and the texture was very creamy!
Also, it has plenty of seats and tables 🙂

  2. Great ice cream joint. Van Leeuwen offers a plethora of delicious flavors, vegan scoops, and even some special concoctions. Some of the popular flavors can run out quickly though.

  3. Unbelievable! I've heard of Van Leeuwen, I've walked by Van Leeuwen, but I had never had Van Leeuwen until now!

I was more than satisfied with my honeycomb ice cream, and it was well worth the $5.50.  Absolutely delicious – there was so much amazing was in this small cup that it did not need any toppings or additional flavoring – fantastic!

Highly recommend – definitely stop in on a hot summer day, or post-dinner!

  4. I love the flavor options here, and the staff here are very nice and helpful.

The employee helping me might have been new because I asked to sample 4 flavors, and he let me, but his co-worker told him that the max allowed was 3. Oops. 🙁 Anyway, I felt like the employees here were all very nice. They had a big, bright smile for every customer.

I got a large cone with pistachio, honeycomb, and earl grey. I loved all three flavors! The honeycomb is definitely on the sweet side. I loved the crunchy pieces of honeycomb in the ice cream. Just a warning, this flavor was kind of already melting when I got it, both as a sample and in my cone. Not sure if this batch came out bad, or if this flavor just doesn't freeze as well as the others. The pistachio was very smooth and not overly sweet, but I wish the pistachio flavor was a bit stronger. The earl grey ice cream was awesome. Strong flavor and perfectly balanced with sweetness.

I also sampled the blueberry oat yogurt cookie flavor. It was tart, which some people like, but I'm not really into sour dairy.

Would definitely come back to try out the other flavors. They have some pretty interesting flavors, like red currant, rhubarb, and such.

  5. Just amazing. There is about 10 non-vegan ice cream flavors.

The flavors aren't extremely rich, but it is very flavorful. Ended up with the Honeycomb and Espresso flavor. Would definitely recommend this place!

The store itself is also super cute. I'd suggest coming into the store to get their ice cream!

  6. The ginger ice cream is 100. It has a perfect blend of flavors. I love ginger and never would have thought of putting it in an ice cream. its glorious and i highly recommend it.

The vegan flavors are great as well. They taste like regular ice cream.

There was was a bit of a line of it was pretty fast moving. Great place to stop if your just casually walking through the neighborhood.

  7. I'm always down for IG worthy ice cream. Van Leeuwen makes it to the top 5 ice cream shops in NYC that I absolutely LOVE.

Accommodating both vegans and dairy lovers alike, this ice cream shop offers a variety of flavors that I believe change frequently. From a vegan matcha to earl grey and cookies and cream, they offer a variety of flavors that will have you second guessing if you should try another scoop. (and, you should!!)

Another plus would be the ample seating and the laid back atmosphere. It's never overly crowded and oh I can't forget, service is always friendly!

  8. Still in awe at the amount of unique flavors offered as well as the quality of the ice cream.
I got a scoop of Honeycomb and a scoop of Ginger while my friend got the Pine with cornbread and mint chip.
The honeycomb is BEYOND AMAZING…not only is it so well flavored( you can taste the honey!!) there are also pieces of honeycomb..adding a great crunch to the texture. The other scoop had ginger pieces and was very strong as well. My friend' mint chip was so refreshing and extra minty, the pine flavor was so different but interesting — it tasted like the smell of pine trees in fall.

In addition to the amazing ice cream flavours, the service was respectful and they really give you their time. I was able to taste a few flavors without judgement ( picking ice cream is no joke!!)

Overall, great ice cream store for unique and high quality ice cream. Great sized portion ! Will be coming back  to try more flavors …one of the best in the city!!
