I wandered on this place just walking around the neighborhood and decided to give it a try. It has a really cute outback garden where we sat. It has a bottomless brunch but it didn't include your meal in the price so we decided against it. I ordered the hamburger and my bf got an omelet. I am a burger lover but would not order this one again. It was a weird texture. However, my boyfriends omelet was really good and the mimosas were really tasty. Overall I would go again but I would order something else.
We came here on a Saturday for my friend's birthday brunch before heading over to Royal Palm's for shuffle boarding. Naturally we all opted for unlimited brunch cocktails for two hours. I thoroughly enjoyed my bloody marry's and enjoyed the prompt service even more. Before I was halfway through a drink the waiters were already asking if I was ready for my next bloody marry. At $17/person for drinks plus your entree at ~$13, it felt a little pricey for a Brooklyn neighborhood restaurant.
Food was decent, good of used a touch of hot sauce or salt on the mushroom omelette. Portion sizes felt like they were a little on the light side (everyone was given only 3 potato wedges).
I came here recently for an after work dinner with a few friends on a Thursday. When we arrived the place was empty aside from the 2 people at the bar, 1 of which was my friend. We were seated promptly and given menus. I started my meal with a glass of delicious Moscato D'asti. The menu was pretty straight forward, with a few familiar items. I ordered the crispy Gnocchi with sausage and broccoli rabe. It didn't taste bad but I wish I would've ordered something else. The gnocchi was soggy after sitting in the garlic-oil sauce and some pieces were over-cooked. The broccoli rabe although bitter, was a good accompaniment. After a few bites, I was tired of the meal and packed it to go; it tasted better after I reheated it days later. One of my friends had the salmon with couscous and complained that the couscous was salty. I tasted the salmon and it was good. Another friend had the shrimp and scallops with pasta and she loved it. The service was ok, nothing spectacular or memorable. The staff was patient and served us anytime we requested it. Overall, I would return but only for the brunch, as it seems to have a greater rapport with yelpers.
A group of 3 of us came here on Sunday around 1pm for brunch. We didn't have a reservation, but were able to be seated right away even though they were busy. Two of us did the bottomless 2 hour brunch for a set price of $15 per person for bottomless mimosas or bellinis. They are not cheap with the refills at all, any time you ask they will bring another one in a decent amount of time, which is always a plus at brunch!
There brunch menu has a large selection of different options. I went with the salad with grilled chicken and the two other people I was with got the steak sandwich and the Kobe beef burger. We all really enjoyed our food.
The restaurant can accommodate all different groups, they had a large birthday seated as well as groups of two just out to eat. The service was good and all the staff was very friendly, I'll be back for sure, possibly for dinner next time.
Service is great.
Food is good and large in portions.
Venue is lovely with plenty of seating (plus outdoor seating).
I've been here several times and this place always has good pasta, panini, salads…everything.
Came here like 2 weeks ago for my sisters graduation, the menu looked ok, I wasn't really impressed with the menu items. Then the waiter came and told us the specials. As appetizers we got an eggplant lasagna and stuffed mushrooms they were both great. My meal I ordered shrimp, lobster and scallops al Diablo I wasn't too fond of it. It was ok, my sister raved about her stuffed chicken, my nieces ordered something simple like Cesar salad with grilled chicken, and the chicken was amazing tasted really fresh. My boyfriend had a coconut martini and it was so delicious, and me and my sister had a lychee martini also very good. I liked the drinks better then the food honestly. But they do have happy hour buy u have to be sitting at the bar to get it!
I'd give this place a 3.5 – good positive experience but not my favorite.
Verde on Smith serves Italian/Seafood cuisine. My dinner party of 4 arrived at 6:15pm on a Saturday night. The service was a little slow but it was nice not to feel rushed out of the restaurant.
They have an awesome cocktail and wine list but a pretty lousy beer menu. I was surprised to find a restaurant in BK that doesn't serve multiple craft beers – only Peroni, Stella, Hoegarden, and BK Brew.
Here's what we ordered:
Appetizers:
Baked Clams – Exactly as expected. Delicious.
Seafood Salad – Not a fan of cold seafood dishes. The squid was mediocre.
Portobello Mushroom w/ Feta – Amazing. The portobello mushroom was sliced and had an amazing meaty texture.
Dinner:
Lamb Shank – Not too big, not too small. Comes with steak like fries and some sautéed spinach.
Brunch! Brunch! What would life be like without brunch? I don't want to know.
Verde hit it spot on with the unlimited mimosas/bellinis and some fabulous brunch options.
By far the pancakes were my favourite. They were small, fluffy and had a nice outter crisp. The omelets were fresh and tasty, with a nice amount of veggies and cheese added.
My only setback with giving Verde a 5* was our waitress. She was extremely obnoxious and rude (Maybe bad day?) because we were being our usual friendly selves and she kept trying to ruin our moods.
I am definitely a fan of the food and hopefully manage to score a less grouchy waitress next time.
