  1. We came here for a quick dinner and drinks on our way somewhere else. It was pretty crowded at 7pm on a Friday night, mostly with people watching sports after work and with families with children.

We sat at the bar and I was pleased with their happy hour (on wine, martinis, and beer). My friend got the wings, which were very good; I got the buffalo chicken which was huge and very filling. The food service was quick too. If I'm evern back in this  area, I would consider stopping here agian for dinner!

  2. Lively place.  A much more upscale version of the old VI, which isn't saying much (not meant to be insulting to the new place)

A nice selection of craft beer.
    Reasonably priced cocktails.
A decent selection of pub fare which while nothing special, is well in line with what you'd hope to receive when ordering here.
They draw a decent crowd on Thurs-Sat nights.  Sometimes it can be tough to find a seat.
The outdoor patio section is very nice in the warmer months.  While there's no real view or ambiance out there, it's simply nice to have as an option.
The staff is friendly and they try hard enough.  The bartenders do a good enough job of keeping order.
They have DirecTV and there are TVs everywhere, so sports junkies will certainly get their fix.
Overall just a solid local pub that's a great place for a guy's or lady's night.
They even have a few private areas and sections that will accommodate private parties.

  3. Settling in to a new neighborhood can be rough — especially when it comes to finding new restaurants. But luckily for us, we have friends nearby who can point us in the right direction! Hello, Verona Inn.

We've eaten here twice, and we had two completely different experiences. On our first visit, we were invited to dinner on a weekday evening. We walked right in & were seated in the dining room in a booth against the wall.

The second time, my husband and I decided to stop in for burgers on a Friday night. Unfortunately for us, it looks like all of Verona had the same idea! After a half hour wait, we were seated in the bar area at a tall table in the back. The table had a loud group of kids who were taking shots between rounds, and between that, the birthday party on the other side of the room, and the bar, we couldn't carry on a conversation.

Both times, I ended up ordering the same thing. I had the House Burger, which was pretty great. I asked if the "special house sauce" could be on the side, and for me that really made the meal. The sauce is really good, but I like being able to control the amount I put on. The burger itself is pretty tasty, cooked perfectly (medium, please!), piled with fresh toppings, and super juicy. Also, Hawaiian roll?! Yum.

But let's be honest, it's not that difficult to get a great burger, amirite? This is not why they get four stars. I'm here to talk about the TOTS. Literally a dozen varieties for their Signature Spuds menu, which can be ordered as fries or as tots. If you're counting, that makes 24 different options!! And I come at you with option #25, because my favorite thing in the whole entire world is Gravy Fries/Tots. I'm not a fan of Disco Fries (I must have missed that day in Jersey Girl School?), but I love gravy. So both of the times I've been to Verona Inn, I asked for Disco Tots without the cheese — and the waitresses said "of course!" And let me tell you, these Gravy Tots are on a whole different level. A bowl piled high with Tots, drizzled with a generous ladle of brown gravy. My goodness. The serving is definitely enough to share, buuuut.

(My husband is more adventurous, and he's had the Cowboy Burger with tots, and then a Wedge Salad with & Macaroni & Cheese. All delicious, especially the Mac & Cheese! The panko topping is top notch.)

I'll keep coming back, in the hopes that I ever want to order something other than Gravy Tots. But so far, I haven't been able to resist them …

  4. Great beer list and food is great as well. Came here for trivia night on Tuesday and they had $3 heineken, $2 chicken tacos and $3 steak tacos. Also half off nachos. They have other various specials on each day of the week.

The other times I've been here, the bar section was full so we had to sit on the other side where there are tables only. This was the first time I sat on the bar side and it's definitely better. The other side is much more quiet and isolated!

Great local spot for food and drinks. I especially like all the great beers they offer on tap.

  5. Sat on the patio with a group of 8 people on a Saturday night. We made a reservation ahead of time.

They have an excellent beer selection, and the menu has a great variety. Most of us in the group ordered burgers. I had the Killington burger. It was cooked perfectly. One of my friends ordered the penne vodka and enjoyed it.

We weren't crazy about the selections available on the dessert menu.

The service was friendly. However, the hostess didn't walk us back to the tables and forgot to bring us menus. She did bring them back a few minutes later and apologized for the oversight.

We enjoyed this place and plan on returning.

    Street parking can be challenging.

  6. I had a bad experience here 2 years ago, shortly after they opened. The service was abysmal and the food was just ok. But I decided to give it another try this past year. So I have been there 2x, once by myself at the bar and once with someone at a table. Both times the service was much, much better. The waitress when we had a table seemed very unsure of herself – but she did a good job in spite of it.

I had a Thai salad with chicken one time and anther salad the second time. The salads were huge, fresh, and very good. My friend had a burger that he enjoyed.

The atmosphere is bright and cheerful, though they could use something to absorb sound because it gets very loud.

I've only been there on a weekday evening, so I don't know how it is on weekends. During the week, there seem to be lots of families at the tables and the bar is mostly full with groups of friends. The crowd seems pretty up beat (which if you remember the old verona inn, it was a sorry dump. we are talking years ago. a loveable dump, but a dump just the same.) So I am glad that they have resurrected it into something that the whole town can enjoy.

  7. Just attended a bridal shower here and I must say the staff here is amazing!

We arrived early to decorate the room for the bride-to-be and the staff was so attentive and willing to help with decorations. After we were all done the room looked great and we had some time to kill so we grabbed a drink at the bar. The bar was pretty cool with plenty of seats and booths and 4 big TV's with all the games for the day playing. The crowd here is great on a game day and very lively. My bf's mother loves her football so she was in her element . We enjoyed our drinks and headed back into the room for the party.

The food was great, we started with tomato, basil and fresh mozzarella salad and shortly after the buffet opened. Stuffed mushrooms with crab meat were one of my favorite items on the menu along with the chicken marsala, mashed potatoes, and penne vodka. I was sitting at a table with my cousin and her baby along with her mother.. one of the waiters was kind enough to make her a plate so she could tend to her daughter. I thought that was an unbelievably kind gesture to offer.

Everything we experienced here was amazing and we can't wait to come back for another football Sunday!

  8. Cool casual place for food and drinks. I've been here quite a few times mostly for drinking and occasionally for eating. They have a pretty wide selection of craft beers. Wednesdays are the best days to come because it's half off craft beers and $5 burger night. They have different specials every day of the week so check out their website and see what tickles your fancy.

The staff is friendly and service is quick and attentive. I've never been here on a weekend but I imagine this place probably gets pretty packed since it's on such a busy street.

The only downside to this place is parking is kind of a pain in the ass (street parking). But there's municipal parking in the back with meters if you can find a spot.
