Only stopped here once to grab a slice, and it was good. Next time I will try an entree.
When I go to Staten Island to visit my kids' grandparents, what do I look forward to the most?
Villamonte's shrimp pizza. If you aren't allergic to and also happen to like seafood, you need to try it.
The pizza itself would get a 4.5 star rating, but overall I don't want to mislead anyone about the rest of the menu. It is decent, but not mind-blowing.
For example, one time we had them cater for a family dinner. Got different pastas, apps, etc., and also a large shrimp pizza. The pizza was gone in minutes (I think we made a few converts that day), but I honestly can't remember what the other food we ordered was.
So the moral of this story is: If you are anywhere near the Staten Island Mall, pick up a shrimp pizza pie.
The drop it off at my apartment and I'll reimburse you.
More like 3.5 stars. I enjoy having lunch here as it is close to my job, but sometimes the food is inconsistent. Their regular slice is one of my favorites and is almost always good. Their chicken rolls can be really delicious too but sometimes I've ordered it and it was barely edible. The chicken was way too thick and the roll was under cooked with the cheese barely melted. Other times I've had it, it was crispy & tasty. They also serve a salad, called the Elizabeth, and it is great. It comes with calamari over arugula with a lemon dressing. Delivery can take a long time though. The staff is really nice and friendly.
I have to say, even though it's not the prettiest place, I've never had a bad meal here. Pastas are really worth it and the pizza is excellent.
I've come this pizzeria restaurant a couple of times before and enjoyed it but this time I went back with my mother I wasn't to happy with the service. The waitress was nice but preoccupied with mostly only one side of the dining area and really didn't even come back to check on us and the food.
The bread ended up coming out with the meals which its suppose to come out before that. The pasta was really small and the shrimp parm. was just 2 big shrimps and wasn't that hot neither. I enjoy there pizza most of the time and I had other good food experiences there before but this time wasn't that good at all and the waitress was not great neither.
The guy who cleaned up our table was much of a pleasure than her. I would come back again but not sure if I would order the same meal. Prices are not bad and the menu has lots to order from. I loved the baked clams which is always a favorite and for a shared dish, appetizer & two drinks it only cost me $30 which isn't bad at all.
Wow, I really enjoyed the food here. I am not a big with Italian food, but I can honestly say that the food here is amazing! The bread came warm and fresh and the portion of the food is humongous. I got the chicken rillatoni which was succulent and tasty, there was also ample amount of mushrooms which I happily ate.
I went on a Sunday night and it was still very much crowded. We had to wait atleast 30 minutes for a table, but it was definitely worth it.
Don't even get me started with the desserts, the tiramisu was perfection. My friends got the chocolate mouse and the chocolate cake with ice cream which was also big portion and oh so good! One thing is for sure, if you come to Villa Monte you are not leaving hungry.
It was packed, but the servers were very nice and tried their best to accommodate everyone.
I don't frequent Staten Island much, but if I go to Staten Island Mall I will definitely be coming here to eat especially since it is close to the Mall.
I can't figure out why you would come here if you're a local. If Villa Monte was anywhere but New York, it'd blow other pizzerias out of the water. But it's located smack dab in the pizza mecca of the world, so when you take that into consideration it's just okay. There are far better places to get pizza in the area, so I can't, in good faith, recommend Villa Monte over anywhere else. The pizza is okay, the service is fine. Nothing to write home about, but it's sufficient. Their vodka sauce is tasty, but that's all I really have to say.
Due to our lunch break, we pre-ordered and everything was perfect! All of our food was ready when we sat and the waitress, Marla, was very helpful. I ordered the fried chicken cutlet, mozzarella and vodka sauce wrap and I was glad that I did! It was delicious, I practically inhaled it. They do have counter service so you can run in and out, but also an area to sit and enjoy your food. I see myself going back for another lunch meal 🙂
