Vincent’s Restaurant
“It may not be fancy and snobby like the places on Mulberry, but it is where the locals go for good food.”
“Steamed calamari, steamed shrimp, steamed scungilli extra side of hot sauce and biscuits add a signature shrimp ball over linguini and I'm in my seafood heaven.”
“I wouldn't think of going anywhere else, except maybe Ferrara's around the corner for dessert.”

I ate at this restaurant back in 2011, the first time I came to New York City.
Me and my friend excellently strolled into this place craving Italian food and boy did we get it.
It was one of the best places I have ever eaten at and when I came back to New York in 2012, I was craving some good Italian food, however, hurricane Sandy had other options for me. I was not able to visit this restaurant due to the situation that was going on, however, this trip I was!
This place has been around for over 50 years so that's got to say something about it. I highly recommend the spaghetti and meatballs!
We stumbled upon this gem while walking around NYC. I tasted their sauces that they allow samples of outside and it was delicious. Practically begging me to go in.
The inside is quaint and cozy. I did think it was funny that the music played was classic rock instead of a more mood setting style of music for atmosphere, but I can't complain when I hear Queen. 🙂
We started with the stuffed artichoke which was delicious. I have never had this before but I will surely order again and I can only hope it has the plethora of flavors this one did. We even used the juice to dip our bread in.
We shared an order of lasagna and a Vincent's salad. The salad was ordinary, but it's a plain salad so there is not much to be expected. It was enough to share, that was for sure. The lasagna was perfect. The noodles al dente, and the sauce was full of bold flavors. You can definitely tell they cook their sauce for hours. I wish I would have brought some back to the room. 🙂
The service was also great. Very attentive wait staff, never even had to ask for a refill. Perfect ending to a perfect day in Little Italy NYC.
Situated in Little Italy this is a small Italian restaurant that was recommended as a must go-to for their sauces. I enjoyed my food but it was standard… nothing really blew me away other than the sauces. I doused everything I ate in sauce! The chicken Parm and Fettucini Alfredo were not bad but didn't really offer anything new or special… after asking for a side of their hot tomato sauce/paste I ate every bit of it.
The service at this place was a perfect 10. I was blown away by the kindness. Very attentive and willing to accommodate special requests (I asked for A LOT of sauce)… would definitely recommend this place if making a stop in little italy. It is not fancy and great for a quick stop!
This restaurant has apparently been around for over 100 years, but the current owners have definitely caused the place to go downhill. Their famous sauce (both the sweet and spicy) are both delicious, and I can understand the hype. But everything else was very mediocre, bordering on bad.
Started with the baked clams. They were small and just okay. I wouldn't recommend.
I got the chicken Parm and asked for it to be grilled with a side of pasta and vodka sauce. They shockingly got my complicated order correct, and I was somewhat enjoying my food until I found a big piece of plastic in my chicken (after biting into it). I was disgusted to say the least, but chose not to say anything because my friend loves this place and comes all the time, and I didn't want every subsequent meal he had here to be spit in.
There's too many options in Little Italy to walk away in dissatisfied after a meal.
A coworker recommended we try this place out while on a short visit to NYC. There were three of us in our group and we tried a variety of entrees. The medium and hot sauces were fantastic! I wish I had gone with red sauce instead of alfredo, although the alfredo sauce was still very good, just not up to the same standard as the red sauce. My youngest ordered a personal size pizza. This was not so good. The crust seemed as though it were a pre-made frozen crust. NOT worth the $16 they were charging for it. Then the server came around with the dessert tray. It all looked delicious so I ordered a berry tart/cheesecake. I was not sure what to expect, however, definitely did NOT expect what I got. The top of the dessert was a very firm berry concoction held together by too much gelatin. The bottom cheesecake portion was dry and crumbled while trying to get a forkful. With the two very different textures, this dessert was so difficult to eat. When I asked about the textures, our server simply stated that this was a traditional Italian dessert that is very delicious. Overall, I would recommend this establishment, just be weary of what you decide to order.
The original Vincent's in little Italy!
This is located in the heart of little Italy and has stayed true to their roots for as long as I have been going!
My favorite part is being able to choose how spicy you wold like to have the sauce!
I like to have the sweet sauce with a side of the medium sauce to spice to my specific palate! Yum!
I highly recommend the backed clams 🙂
If you are a lover of seafood, I recommend the scungili salad! It is kinda hard to find these days but I love it and have loved it since I was a child. On this last visit, it did required some salt but it was otherwise prepared perfectly!
My only issues with this venue is that there is only 1 bathroom/sex and the service is kinda shoddy.
BUT if you are looking for good, fresh, home made style Italian…this place cannot be beat (unless you come to my Momma's kitchen!)
this place serves the biggest bagel bites ive ever seen!
also idk if this is related but the whole place smelled like pussy which was kind of chill : P
We had a lovely time eating at Vincent's. It was a Sunday so the street was closed to auto traffic which meant we could sit on the sidewalk. It was literally like something from a movie. Warm Summer night, kids running around and playing in the street and us on the sidewalk with red wine, bread and yummy food! We went for the Chicken Parmesan and Linguine with Clams. Where to start… DELICIOUS!! The linguine was cooked perfect, the clams were succulent and the sauce was perfect (go for the red spicy). The chicken parm was perfectly breaded and cheesy. The pasta side was also delicious. We also had Antonio as our server… he was such a crack-up. Definitely enjoy a dinner here – aim for the weekend when the street is closed, especially with this beautiful weather.
