Virgola

“We usually go to their other cozy little location in the West village, but one night I was in the area with a girlfriend and happened to stumble on their new East Vill location!”

“We chose the Montauk oysters because of the reviews and I see why they would recommend it because it's really good!”

“Their house Prosecco is also really nice, though a touch overpriced.”

  1. Quick bite of oysters with two friends. Fresh and tasty! Nice, tinted atmosphere. Small place with a couple tables and bar area. We tried 5 different oysters that were on the menu of the day. Definitely enjoyed each of the tastes, prefer the juicy tasty ones that taste like the salty, fishy ocean.  and with a splash of lemon. Yum

  2. Food: came here for happy hour oysters and was not disappointed.. There was one east coast $1 oyster and another two for $1.50 all were very good quality; also had the tuna tartar which was great, served with avocado.  Half priced prosecco, both regular and rose for happy hour

Service: our waiter/bartender, Roberto was very personable and attentive, no complaints!

Ambience: dark and semi intimate, but spacious… If you're headed toward the bathroom, you get a glimpse of the open kitchen which is cool

  3. Great happy hour specials abound here. Unlike many places their whole wine list gets discounted during happy hour. The oysters are some of the best in the area too! That's saying a LOT when their competition includes the Mermaid Inn, Upstate, and Fish Bar.  There is usually space to be found.

Another reason this place shines is that their happy hour lasts until 8 PM. If you work a 9-5 and then try to get in a workout before hitting up happy hour it can be hard to get somewhere in time to enjoy delicious dollar oysters. This place makes it possible by extending their happy hour longer than the competitors.

They oysters are always fresh and they seem to be flown in fresh daily as they run out of certain selections – so if you want dibs on your preferred oyster get here early!
