Waldy’s Wood Fired Pizza & Penne
“Love their "herb garden" idea because the fresh oregano and basil just add so much aroma to the already delicious pizzas.”
“My group and I had a large braised lamb pizza and it was delicious paired with a $5 pitcher of Brooklyn Lager.”
“Of special note, there is a tiny potted herb garden to the side, with rosemary, thyme, etc, and a pair of clippers.”

Used to go to Waldy's all the time when I worked by there. All I remember about it was that they did beer pitchers and had okay pizza.
Had a meeting catered with them recently, and remembered why I was never a huge fan. Most of their toppings are lazy, and their crust doesn't hold up well with delivery because it's so thin.
Definitely better in store, but in terms of pizza in NYC, there are way better options.
But hey, if you want a pizza shaped like a football, Waldy's checks that box.
Snapshot: Pizza 3.4/5, Price 4/5, Service 3.4/5
Conveniently located near my hotel, Waldy's Wood Fire Pizza and Pasta offers quick service a good lunch deal (Med Pie with 2 drinks for $15) and decent pizza.
I had the Braised Lamb with Lemon and Basil. The lamb was cooked perfect. The pie was light, crisp and filling. A medium is enough for 2 people.
If your in the area stop in but it's not a destination.
I rate them as 3.5/5 and gave them the extra star.
Grabbed lunch from Waldy's via MealPass.
The option was a 10" broccoli rabe pizza, which was promptly put into the often when we arrived and offered up fresh. I was surprised at being fairly full from the thin pizza and it was pretty darn tasty too. The added benefit of a nice selection of the usual pizza shaker toppings with being able to pluck fresh herbs from their planter straight onto the pizza made the experience all that much more enjoyable. There is definitely a benefit to being able to eat it as soon as its out of the often with just-picked herbs on top.
The limited seats during lunch are few and far between but its ideal to eat it there to make sure its hot and fresh, since the thin pizza does not hold heat over time well.
It makes for one of the better midtown lunch pizzas I've had for sure.
Pretty good pizza! I love the smell of the wood fire stove as you walk by and had to give in and try it. It's VERY thin crust, almost like flatbread, but very tasty. A bit overpriced in my opinion and it's hard to rank with so many fantastic pizza places within just a few blocks, but they have the unique (wood fire) factor that sets them apart. If you can't decide after reading reviews just go smell all of the pizza places around, this one will win
Pizza was delish – thin crust, nothing incredible, but a good solid pizza. I was really excited about the mac and cheese, but it was just not my thing. Was not a fan. And this is partially my fault, but I walked out with my to go order and didn't grab a utensil. Would be great if they stuck not just napkins but a fork in the to go bags for dingbats like me. I would probably try again because the pizza was good, but not anything to write home about.
i have to give props, when the delivery guy pulled out a rectangular box, i was like, wtf am i getting into. wet sloppy room temperature not exactly the greatest crust ever created by man. two boots is way better. pepperoni broccoli rabe it was really obviously cheap ingredients. didnt vibe well together. i put chipotle tobasco to tackle it. really saucy, cheese sucks idk the more i write the less i like this.
From Cincinnati I ordered a heart shaped pizza for my boyfriend that lives in Midtown New York. They were super quick and understood exactly what I wanted. Super punctual with my delivery and made a tomato shaped as a flower to decorate a beautiful heart shaped pizza. And it tasted great!
Made the mistake of coming here based on the 4 star yelp review. I should have known better when I saw that the demonstration pizzas had cubed mozzarella instead of fresh… This place is fast and cheap, not exactly what a foodie is looking for. Toppings tasted old and so did the dough. I did enjoy the fresh herbs, though!
On a cleanliness note, I was disturbed to see what appeared to be employee uniform shirts hanging in the bathroom. I hope these are the dirty shirts ready to be cleaned and not a place to "store" shirts between shifts.
