  1. It's great to see WaWa moving into northern NJ. This store is brand new and has gas pumps also.

It is pretty much the same as other Wawa's. Nice selection of grab and go snacks, sandwiches, fruit and salads. They make up sandwiches fresh at the deli counter too. Nice selection of coffee also.

The bathroom has been clean each time i have used it. The only thing that was dirty was the door leading into the bathroom….its had some "smoot" on it for the past few days I have been there…..needs a cleaning.

The one morning I went (5am) they only had four gas pumps open. They let someone park at the pump and go inside to make a purchase. This really screwed everything up because the guy was in real long and a lot of people were waiting. Hopefully they they work out the little kinks.

Overall a nice, new store located on gritty Route 1 and 9 Northbound just south of Newark Airport. (The address is technically Spring Street, but it is more commonly referred to as 1 and 9)

  2. Wawa in North Jersey?? yayyyyyyyyy!!! I am an Wawa addict! This wawa is near newark airport, great location!

  3. I dont know if I should be writing this as a yelp review or an out cry letter to the Governor or the Mayor of Elizabeth. Even with heavy police presence this wawa is still unsafe. Its loaded with homeless panhandling inside and outside the store. Prostitutes that just straight out come up and touch you like its ok. I have been to places in the South Bronx when it was burnt down and have felt safer. Staff is very friendly but they do nothing to chase these vagabonds out. The store itself is kept clean.  sandwiches, condiments,  Donuts, Coffee are always fresh. They even have a nice selection of Slurpee flavors. If they could just keep these sketchy people out and away from the store,I would probably give them "Four Stars".

  4. I've been to all 3 North Jersey locations (Kearny, Lodi, Elizabeth) for Wawa. I have to say that this location is the best one. There seems to be more options in terms of sandwiches and dressing. I highly recommend going straight to the deli counter and ordering a customized sandwich!

How do you order? Go to one of the touch-screen computers in front of the deli counter and select a category (e.g., Breakfast, Lunch/Dinner, Drinks, Soup/Salad/Sides, etc). From there, you can figure it out! You can really customize your sandwich from type/size of bread to toppings to dressing to extra meat!

How do you pay? Once you complete your order, a receipt will come out. Bring the receipt to the front cashier as you wait for your order to be made. Pay. Then, go back to the deli and wait for your number to be called. Place your "PAID" receipt in the basket. Done! Enjoy!

Their coffee is decent. They have a lot of varieties available. In addition, they have different types of flavored creamer! Free of charge!

Wawa is great, especially when you want things customized to your liking!

I also love their spinach artichoke bites that are by the cashier. Most definitely reheated frozen products, but still tasty!

Currently, I am addicted, and I get a sandwich every day on my way home from work! I wish they had a loyalty card or something! YUMMYYY! :))

  5. I am a WaWa addict and can tell you all about them.  However I can say this place is the WORST.   Sure traffic is bad in the area.  But the gas attendants would rather smoke the provide service.  Smoking in the gas pumping area….really?   I am sure it is against company policy.  Not once but twice this has happened in one week.  Next time I will get a picture.  Just pump the gas, please.    No wawa quality staff!!!!!

  6. Being from NY I have to get my Wawa fix in NJ. The coffee is always fresh and the gas prices reasonable. I love the pretzel rolls. The subs are great and fresh.
