Blah.
Nothing spectacular about this location. The lines are long, but well organized. The service is fast. Just be sure to check your bag before you leave the register. I can't tell you how many times I've checked and something was missing.
Oh no value menu. My Junior Bacon Cheeseburger was $2.09.
They always get my order wrong! My order is extremely simple: two junior bacon cheeseburgers (lettuce, tomato, cheese, bacon, burger, bun). But sometimes they put pickles, sometimes they put onions, sometimes they put mayonnaise, sometimes they forget to put bacon. And whenever I remind them "No mayonnaise or pickles or onions, please" they very rudely and aggressively argue with me "It doesn't come with mayonnaise or pickles or onions!" Last time she threw the bag down and said "No mayonnaise or pickles or onions!" and when I got home there were onions! And today, she said "No mayonnaise or pickles or onions," but at least she was polite this time, yet when I got home their was mayonnaise! I really don't know what the problem is, perhaps horrible training or inattentive management or poor communication, but it's something, and unfortunately it's extremely consistent. How damn annoying!
Ooh, shiny!
It was a pleasant surprise to walk into this Wendy's a few days ago to see that it was renovated. (The last time I was here was in 2010 when I worked down the block.) The magic ended quickly, though, and it quickly became the FiDi Wendy's again when I started to encounter the staff. It was practically a clone of the smiley yet mostly inexperienced people that served us years ago.
It really bugs me when there are 15 people behind the counter, ten people in front, and they.. somehow.. run out of nuggets. Really? Nuggets? And, oh PS: I ordered one order of them, not two. But, then I quickly bring myself back to reality. "It's Wendy's, Peter, not a fancy-schmancy place…" What did I expect?
This Wendy's is pretty close to my job in FiDi, so I hit this place up pretty often.
When you've only got a few bucks and you want to fill up around lunch time, this place is a good standby.
There is usually a line around lunchtime, but don't be deterred, it will move pretty fast.
The workers aren't sympathetic. You'll get one serving of ketchup and one of dipping sauce, no more…sometimes less.
If you get the potato with cheese and bacon, the bacon will not be in crumbly bits, but strewn out in ghetto fashion, just a thin shrivel of bacon topping your potato.
I stick with simple choices, the kid-sized frosty, small fries, spicy or regular small order of nuggets. Don't get too complicated. Don't ask for alterations. Do you know where you are right now?
Spend $5, get a bunch of food. Be happy and hope that you don't get a tummy ache. Oh yeah, and they usually mess up my order and give me too much food. Score!
Just make sure that you check your order was remotely correct before you leave. Once you walk away from the counter, don't expect any make-goods.
Wendy's is one of the very few places where I go for fast food. I LOVE their $.99 dollar menu which truly fits in today's ailing economy. Most of their burgers contain sour dough bread which is the reason for their higher prices than competitors like McDonald's and Burger King. I LOVE sour dough bread.
I would come here often and the line is well controlled as it moves in a systematic, assembly-line orderly fashion. I rate it four stars as there is insufficient staff to man the fort behind the scenes to cook and prepare all the meals.
