Fantastic selection of chilled wines at all price points. Also well organized throughout the store and with some wines that I've never even come across. Awesome.
The owner told me that EVERY wine in the store was available chilled (if it should be chilled…looking at you reds, lol), even if I didn't see it in the fridge. This is amazing.
I've only been here twice (and apparently that was enough to crown me the royal Yelp Duchess, who0t!!) but both times the staff was super helpful, friendly and knowledgable.
Wines I've purchased here include Pinot Noir, Tempranillo and Riesling. With having had such pleasant experiences here (and with them being located a hop, jump and a skip away from my office!) this is sure to become my work hood regular wine shop…although they also sell actual liquor, but so far I can only speak to my wino experiences here :).
Very convenient location for me. The staff is friendly, fairly knowledgeable and extremely efficient. Prices seem reasonable, although I don't buy much wine or liquor so I'm really not too sure.
It's just very narrow so it's hard to stand back and look for what you want. One star off for narrowness. Is that a thing? Can we make it a thing? I guess it is now. Henceforth, all narrow stores will have a one star deduction.
But if you can get over the narrowness, you'll like this place pretty well.
One of the cheapest options for wine and liquor in Midtown. Very large selection as well. Found a vast amount of wines for under $10 which was exactly what I was going for on that particular day because I am CLASSY. I was in a rush so I did not get the chance to explore much. But they had a bargain wine rack and a large selection in the fridges. I think this place is in connection with the Westerly grocery store around the corner. But whatever I bought was a red wine that did not taste like swill. So Kudos.
Westerly Liquors is a little shoebox of a liquor store on 8th Ave in the Midtown West / Hell's Kitchen neighborhood. The selection is not the greatest, but for such a small store they really pack in a decent variety of booze from Almaden boxed wine to Cakebread Cellars chardonnay. They have a good liquor selection too. For one, this is the only store that I can think of that carries Plymouth Gin anywhere in Midtown. If you are in the area, this place should do the trick, but if you demand a finer selection of wines and liquors, go a few blocks north to the wine shops in Columbus Circle.
