Guess who reopened! Yep – Whale's Tale. Kitchens not up and running yet, but they redid EVERYTHING in here – new floors, new walls, he's changing the booth and seating structure, which is awesome, because while you'll still be able to sit down, there will be enough room to move around a little easier.
plus – I was stunned – it smells like cedar. I know that won't last, but the fact that their bathroom smells like clean wood instead of gross disinfectant…money. They got new taps on the bar and are adding another row in the back. NEW and MORE taps.

I love The Whales Tail.I use to go there all the time when I lived in Long Beach. Great fresh shucked clams and oysters. Fresh seafood dinners great authentic Buffalo wings. OMG they are so good. The Whales Tail also has a great bar scene after a fun day at the beach. If you live in the west end of Long Beach, then you should go there right now.
Casual! Friendly staff. Fresh food. Deliciously prepared. Great portions. Great for summer but would go mid winter!
Terrific lunch. Peggy, our server, was friendly, informative, and attentive. Firehouse chicken sandwich was delish. Nice atmosphere and great location on Beech St. Looking forward to returning soon.
