Whiskey Burger
“I saw the Happy Hour menu when I was there, can't wait to try it and the prices are great !”
“The only other burger I like in this area is by Brew Inn, which pretty much explodes all over your hands and face as soon as you take your first bite– instead this burger is super easy to eat.”
“The short rib hash & eggs is my favorite thing on the menu, and it pairs perfectly with the bacon cheddar Bloody Mary.”

Great place for a beginner.. Nothing special. It is very transparent that the chief doesn't understand how to use the spices to kick the food to the next level.
I was so excited for a new place to open up but this was far from what I really wanted it to be. The hype around this joint is greater then it should be.
To me a burger has to be messy, tasteful and just that perfect amount of everything spice to make you leave wanting more. That feeling I did not get!
I walked away completely dissatisfied with everything– I had better food at our family BBQ. The burger tasted like something I would make myself.. Shake shack has more flavor in there food.
I must say I did like the ice burger — the fact that there was no bread made me very happy!! His option you rarely find on the menu. The Fried are ok.. But to pay $1 for a sauce is a little intense— shouldn't you get the first one with the fires and the rest for like .50 cents or something.. That's a rip off!!
Totally disappointed with the nachos!!! You didn't get much of the ingredients and once you ate the tops chips (5) you have nothing but the chips left. Maybe they should layer the ingredients between the chips the way most restaurants do.
Overall I don't believe it deserves a 2 but a 3 is way too much.. I'm in the middle for about a 2.4.. So it doesn't round up (Math geeks:):))
Hopefully the try risking the spices a little and I will be sure to go back.
Staff great and it's nice inside but a little to dark.. I could hardly read the menu.
I only stopped in for a quick beer when I had to kill a few minutes before an appointment. Good beer selection. I went with a Greenpoint "Fisticuffs" Pale Ale which was quite nice. Not busy for brunch. I did not check the menu since I did not have much time. Bartender was fine. I would go back.
They have Whiskey flights. I don't believe that I need to say any more about that…but I will. The flights themselves were pretty good, and decent sized pours. You get 3 types for roughly $15-$20 and in total you're getting probably 1.5 drinks, so it's still good value.
I had the whiskey burger on an iceberg wedge (super accommodating). The burger itself was alright, it was a tad cold but that's because I believe they mixed up my order. In any case, the burger was pretty good and the fries were pretty decent as well. Lots of ways to customize your burgers…I'd definitely go back if I'm in the area. Further, we went for the superbowl and it was essentially empty. Surprising because they had decent tvs and food….glad it was empty though!
I loves this place. I used to go to the Mark Bar when I lived in Greenpoint and was surprised when I heard it had closed. This bar/restaurant is a really step up. The decor is cozy yet modern. The bar had a really beautiful shelf behind it, there are TVs for sports but it wasn't blaring. The staff were really nice. I had the delicious brussel sprouts as an app and then the Whiskey Burger. That was one of the best burgers I have ever had. It has a whiskey bbq sauce, fried onions, delicious sweet pickles, a thick burger and nice brioche type bun. You have to unhinge your jaw to eat it but I smashed it together and ate away. I also tried a friend's grilled cheese which was awesome. We then tried some desserts even though I could barely eat. They have a chocolate cup cake which is served in a cup. Really good and a cute idea. I loved the banana bread pudding.
With the great music, fun atmosphere and happy hour until 8pm, I will definitely be back.
I was thoroughly impressed with this spot right down the block from where I'm staying right now. The BLT was exactly what I needed after a terrifically long day & the recommendation by the bartender for the Victory draught beer was spot on. I was looking for something light but not too light; it was perfect. The BLT was served on country toast & I asked for the bacon to be well done & that's exactly what I got. I hate when you don't get what you ask for. The bacon was so crisp & the sandwich truly was perfection as far as BLTs are concerned. The reason why I am giving 4 stars though instead of 5 is because although I LOVED the sandwich & it hit the spot, I actually ordered a different sandwich entirely: Grilled Cheese & Bacon with tomato relish & apple salad. Oh well. I said nothing because I still enjoyed what I had & didn't want to send it back because I have no problems with a good BLT. The bartender was super friendly & caring though & we shared a nice little conversation. The food was served very quickly & extremely hot. I love hot food. The fries were legit!! These were definitely not frozen fries but rather freshly hand cut fries & served perfectly crisp & hot. All in all, I will definitely be back!!
What I told my husband after we dined here was that it is exactly like a burger you would grill up yourself at a house BBQ. Simple. Amateur.
I built my own burger and husband got the whiskey burger. Both were basic tasting and uninspired. For $15 a burger, I'm expecting a really good burger! The fries were good, I'll give them that.
If I want a good burger for similar price in the area, Brew Inn is where to go. And I'd get tater tots with that.
This is a review that should have taken place about two months ago.
Being new to NYC, my husband and I aren't used to all of the food delivery ordering. Our first venture…Whiskey Burger.
We both order a burger that is no longer on their menu, the Baja Burger a sausage burger with grilled/charred peppers.
The burgers and fries arrive however sans peppers…it seems silly but tell people. The food was good but customer service and follow through counts for a lot to me!
The lack of concern for what people order would make me steer clear.
Update: it appears as though the restaurant closed and reopened!
