  1. Came here for drinks a few weeks ago.  Was quite impressed with the selection of whiskey.  Great low-key place to grab drinks with friends in the village.  Highly recommend!

Whiskey Passport Stop#4 at Whiskey Social. They featured a 92 Proof Kentucky Bourbon from Larceny. I decided to have it as a Whiskey sour. He added the whiskey, lemon juice, simple syrup, and fresh egg white to a tin and did a dry shake to get a good foam. Then shook it again with ice to cool it down. He finished it with angostura bitter leaf design in the foam. I was happily surprised by the quality of the cocktails at this bar.

The bar/restaurant was mellow place to enjoy a drink. I even met another person doing the whiskey passport.

  3. Their beer menu needs work but the whiskey menu is good. The food is adequate.Pork belly had a little bit of crunch and the sauce wasn't bad either.

it's a little bit warm in here also. There are definitely better whiskey bars but there are definitely worse.

  4. Second time here but only had drinks the first night so wanted to wait to review…. Food selection is slim and meh the "fried chicken (nugget) sliders" we're tasty according to my friend but the pieces of chicken were… Well… Smaller than a McDonald chicken McNugget. The spicy something sauce that came with it was foamy on top like they just whisked it and super watery…. Watered down spicy mayo??? The wings were yummy and very spicy which I love but not everyone does. Whiskey selection is on point and I taste NO hint of water downed liquor (which is a thing believe it or not, and sometimes the staff doesn't even know, but NOT HERE) bartenders were super cool and nice both times I've gone. The waitress on the other hand could brush up on her customer service skills. She was not mean or rude but just… Dismissive? Strange I know but she just seemed so uninterested in LIFE…. Like a robot or something. It was dead so maybe she was uninspired? She became a little friendlier towards the end of the evening when there were a couple more patrons. Anyway… This place get PACKED which is why I don't come often but if you're a whiskey lover it's worth a visit and even if you're not it's a nice big open space with good people watching…. Just eat before or plan to eat after.

  5. 3.5 stars.

Came here for a happy hour with some friends from out of town. Had heard good things, and figured it would be worth a try for a casual hang out. The space is actually pretty large, and has your typical white brick garage-type decor, with a lot of old wooden accents and chalkboard everything. There were TVs located on every wall, but none of them were turned on for some reason. Not sure why they were there if they're not being turned on in the first place. Phrasing?

We also ended up getting food, and I ordered the fried chicken sandwich, which was excellent. The chicken was perfectly crispy and fried, and not too greasy, and it came with a pile of hand-cut fries. At about $14, not the worst deal. I also tried the smoked fish dip, which came in a fairly large cup, but with only about 6 pieces of crostini. When we asked for more, the waiter came back with a 3 more tiny pieces, as if he was doing us a huge favor by bringing out more. Yikes. Toasted bread isn't the expensive part of this dish, my friend.

In addition, service was pretty spotty throughout the night. Dude couldn't keep up with our small requests, like some extra napkins or refilling our water, so we basically gave up asking by the end of it. I get that it was kinda busy, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, but not really a good first impression. In all, the prices aren't great, with the beers starting at $8, and the happy hour pricing at $6 for drafts. I just don't think that many people will be clamoring to go to a happy hour place for $6 typical drafts.  Even higher-end bars still have $5 drafts (or less). Just my opinion.

Whiskey Social, having just opened about a month ago, is definitely a place that's trying to find its footing and overall identity, and it shows. It kinda seems like they're trying to penny-pinch, even in the opening months, which I just don't think is a good look. However, for now, it's not a bad place for a low-key casual hang out with some bar bites in a large open space. Just be prepared to pay a little more for less.

  6. This place has a great selection of beer and spirits!!! I was here for happy hour with two friends, great place for drinks and being able to talk !! The bartenders were great! Definitely would recommend

  7. I only came here for drinks, so I can't vouch for the bar food.

Don't ever order their "Kentucky Gardens" whiskey drink.  I can't find it on their website, but it was on their drink menu and I regretted it immediately once I ordered it.  I had to switch it out for my friend's drink when he was too busy chatting with other people.

However, the drink that I stole from him was DEELICIOUS.  It was called "Elderflower Sour" w/ white whiskey, egg whites, st. germain and aromatic bitters.  I loved that ish so much I had two rounds of it.

    Keep stealin', yo.

  8. I ate Alligator Tail while drinking Whiskey. How better can it get? It made me feel exotic and special. The whiskey that I ordered (Widow Jane on the rocks) was extremelly smooth and nice on the nose.
If you're ever near this place, go for it. Specially on weekends at night. It's crowded (but not too crowded) loud music (but not too loud) and pricey (but not too pricey).
All in all, a good combination
