The perfect place for your Valentine's date if, like me, you don't think too highly of the holiday. To me, the holiday is kind of hollow and silly, and White Castle kind of embodies that for me. I would suggest coming with another couple, like we did, just because it's more fun this way.
We ended up spending $53 on food and left a cash tip since their credit card receipts don't even have a line for tip since they only do table service on this one day a year. A total steal since we were stuffed and very satisfied! Way better than those $100 Valentine's Prix fixe menus!
The food actually seemed like it was prepared with love and care. But I can't really compare it to the daily quality since I almost never eat White Castle. But everything we had was selfish!
Our servers were friendly, enthusiastic kids. Really the best fast food workers I've ever encountered. The tables had red table cloths and cute little decorations. They even give you chocolates before and after your meal. And they have a cute picture background up.
And you can BYOB! I think we might have found our new Valentine's tradition!
White Castle, the home of the "Murder Burger" I have a special fondness for this particular location as I have been eating here for at least 25 years! I can remember my days in Elementry School, coming here with my buddies and buying lunch for School trips or this being a weekly adventure (Even though I lived a block away, lol)
As I am a White Castle veteran, I have learned to not eat the burgers after 9PM, but ocassionally after a night of drinking, I"ll go to the drive thru for some Mozzarella Sticks, Cheese Burgers, and some Onion Rings at 5AM.
The staff here has always been excellent, many of the workers have been here quite awhile. They are always courteous and friendly. It's usually quiet here and you will see many seniors from the residential building across the street quietly having a cup of coffee and relaxing.
Stop in, have a milk shake, some of their great Onion Rings, Mozzarella Sticks, or the world famous (Murder Burgers!)
I stumbled upon this place by miracle while searching for lunch. Their location is 24 hours and is conveniently located off the D train fort Hamilton parkway. When I first walked in there were no people sitting down to eat . it was so empty and quiet that it made me doubt the safety of eating here. They have an A rating from the department of health so I feel assured. Employees looked at me blankly and took my order. I waited for about 5 minutes but I was satisfied with the service since the other white castles I been to in the past do take a while. After I ordered a few more people came in so I def know it is not an abandoned and forgotten location place.
I got my order to go to eat at the office. My order of corn dog cobblers were a little too Brown but hey it's still good. I do highly recommend this location for lunch since this area is sorta really lacking in good restaurants.
This is the place that started it all for me. I'm a Craver today because of this White Castle.
I've been coming here my entire life. When I was a kid, my mom didn't take me to McDonalds for a Happy Meal. She didn't take me to get a cardboard crown from Burger King. No, she took me to White Castle. I grew up with White Castle.
I've come here many times over the years, and I'm really sad to see that this place will be gone soon. This location makes the legendary White Castle sliders as good as anywhere else I've been to. I've gotten several Crave Cases here and I've always been satisfied.
Enjoy it while it lasts guys.
I've actually never had a White Castle burger before but since it's close to where I live I decided to give it a try.
I found the decor a little dated, they're going for the retro diner look with white tiles and lunch counter tables. Didn't work for me, plus the place was kind of empty so I didn't really get the vibe of people enjoying the diner feel.
The food was good, I got the double cheese slider meal. The fries were good, and the burgers were tasty. It hit the spot and wasn't all too pricey. I might come back and try it again. Maybe on a late night when I just want a snack.
Seriously this place is a gem when you are craving the tiny burgers in the middle of the night. It has been around since I was in grade school. A staple in the Borough Park neighborhood and they have a drive-thru!!
They have every combo you can imagine with all sorts of sides. Just a note that White Castle Fries are thick and not very crispy so for some it may be a turn off but you can get the onion rings instead.
White Castle holds a special place in my clogged heart when it comes to late night drunk food. I love those little burgers.
That being said, it absolutely is gross. I don't really want to put a star rating on White Castle, because it doesn't deserve the stars that I want to give it. I guess… 3 stars… is fair?
Every table in the "dining room" was dirty.
If you've got the munchies and you don't feel like eating street meat, then there's plenty of space here for you. Unlike the White Castle on 4th Avenue, this one has seating inside, and plenty of it. It gets a bit sketchy on late nights when the drunks file in. Some get a bit rowdy and that's when the employees begin giving dirty looks. Most of the staff is of Indian dissent, which I find a bit odd as to why, but that's for another day. The food comes out fairly quickly, so no complaints there. If there are no drunks passing by, it's usually pretty quiet, which makes for a good "cool down" after a night of partying.
