  1. This is a must i the Clark food tour. After a few rounds next door at molly M's

Taylor ham egg and cheese is a plus. The burgers are just a greezy as the other "white" places.

Only eat here if you have a short drive home.

  2. You gotta love the classic NJ diner look.
I had the small cheeseburgers "sliders". They were tasty as were the crispy crinkle cut fries.
I was in the area for a golf outing, and knew I had to stop here on the way home. Well I stopped here after having a burger at nearby Molly maguires. I saved some room for White Diamond.

I was a little annoyed that the girl taking my order rolled her eyes when I forgot to tell her I wanted a soda. Other than that I'm glad I stopped.
Definitely would add this to the list for a NJ burger tour along with the White Manna/ Mana.

  3. Gotta love it, but not as much as I did in the past.  I stopped in to grab some takeout at a (surprisingly) reasonable hour.  It was a young girl serving and a young guy cooking.  I waited about 10 minutes to even be helped and the food wasn't as good as I remember it 🙁

  4. Stop: Before you continue reading anything else about White Diamond, remember, order your double on a white roll.  Otherwise it comes on a Kaiser.  And you'll be sad.

White Diamond could be an American institution.  They serve delicious slider style burgers from a small roadside stand.  The menu is quite big, but I encourage everyone to look no further than the burgers.  Order California style if you like tomato and lettuce.  To perfect the experience, make sure you get onions and pickles as well.  The double California burger on a white roll provides the perfect ratio of meat to bun to condiments.

Bottom Line: For $10 or less you can get a whole meal.  If you know and love this kind of burger and joint, White Diamond is near perfect.  Otherwise, quit complaining and go to Burger King.

    Cash only.

  5. I get a Taylor Ham, Egg and Cheese and a Cheeseburger each and every time I come here. They taste exactly the way they aught to without fail, which is saying something, considering I've been going here for 15 years.

White Diamond, don't you ever change.

  6. This place is right off the corner of Raritan Rd and Central Ave. It's a small spot and not a lot of parking. I went in and from the looks of it they probably haven't changed the inside for generations. Very vintage looking with nothing really up to date. They probably have this to keep the regulars coming back. It's a 24/7 type of joint that only takes cash and probably best to get a quick bite to eat.

The food however is just how I expected it to be, greasy. I got a double cheeseburger with everything which comes with pickles and caramelized onions, a bacon cheeseburger with everything, and onion rings with cheese which totaled about $12. I thought it was going to be cheaper but it has average prices. They also have a breakfast meals there which are cheaper like a platter of home fries, toast, and eggs for like $3.

The double cheeseburger was huge. It came on a sandwich roll type of bread and the patty was standard size. I wish it was more like the White Mana in Hackensack which have a better quality and smaller portions. But White Diamond wasn't too bad but it wasn't the best either. The double cheeseburger was filling but it wasn't super delicious. It is oily so it did fill me up fast. I had to wait and eat the bacon cheeseburger when I got home because it was too much for lunch. The cheese they use for the onion rings was good. It's like the nacho cheese you get at the movies and not the sliced cheese at the grocery store.

The onion rings were typical tasting but didn't give me enough for the price. My coworker got the french fries and they gave huge portion of that.

If I was drunk and hammered and didn't want the standard McDonalds, Burger King, or Wendy's that's right down the street, I'd come here to get another burger to sober me up.

  7. Greasy, greasy spoon. Minus the spoon. I get it having a cult following but I don't think I could ever be a regular here.

  8. Best "rat" burger around! That's what we used to call the burgers but they are really good and I think even made with real meat 🙂 Been going since highschool. Another Clark staple. Growing up in Clark it was a privilege to go here and something I looked forward to when home from college. I'm so happy it is still around and I hope it's around for another 60 years. Since I've gotten older I can't eat that kind of greasy food all that often but when I do go it is soo worth the stomach pains! It's definitely the place to go after a night out of drinking.
