White Rose System
“but nothing beats the Double Double…well Maybe the Ziggy…you'll have to ask Claude about that one.”
“Truth be told, I'm a big fan of the Highland Park White Rose, and I've always wanted to check out the few others, though I knew that they're all operated independently of each other.”
“The small cheeseburgers are the bomb, cheese fries all day BUT Taylor ham egg & cheese is where it's really at..”

I'm surprised this place has 4 stars.
Although it does have a nice divey feel where the lady at the counter will know your name if you come often enough, the burger was pretty bland and the buns were wayyy too big. The crinkle cut fries were delicious but not so different from the Ore Ida ones you can get at your grocery store.
I don't like writing bad reviews when I had a good experience but the food just doesn't live up to the 4 star rating that's been bestowed on this location. It is cheap food and open all night but it really didn't satisfy my cravings.
White Rose is a right of passage in this area.
It's a late night spot you head to before heading home. It's where you get your food coma fill with a greasy burger, some mozz sticks or some cheese fries (or all of the above). I've had food from here around normal dinner hour and it just doesn't taste the same as it does around 2am. I think Claude has something to do with it.
And no this is not the same thing as White Diamond in Clark. Shame on you.
White Rose System is a 24-hour Jersey diner with a really weird name that serves up pretty good comfort food. The prices are modest, but so are the servings. The ingredients taste fresh, but this place isn't serving up food that will blow your mind. Come in hungry, satisfy your cravings, and leave happy.
Can't go wrong with 2 small cheese. Claude does it right! Onion rings, fries, Taylor ham, egg, & cheese…it's all delicious!
Throw back vintage 50's chow trailer gets the job done in a pinch, the definition of comfort food, but….
"Teen angel" playing on the over head upon entrance. Stools completely surrounding the cramped (about 25) dining area, no tables. Definitely an affordable grab & go joint.
Absolutely no decor other than the item signs confusingly scattered about. No menu here kids. Kinda dingy and just acceptable sanitation.
Now it was just after 11 a.m. so I couldn't in good conscience make it an all burger meal, but I had to try one of those little cheeseburgers along with a pork roll egg and cheese. $3.10 for a double a white castle size cheese burger with a few cooked onions under the burger with a side of pickles ain't too bad ,but it ain't too cheap either. The burger cooked medium well had a lil salt, but as a whole meh. If you want lettuce & tomato an up charge of $.75 blows their price point and drops them a rating star. The pork roll egg and cheese comes with 1 egg 3 slices of Taylor ham and one slice of yellow American cheese smushed on a roll it was fine and for $3.80 I could live with it.
So for the price its OK, but 4 or 5 stars PLEASE STOP! It gets the job done and service is fast & friendly, but it is what it is.
