  1. This is one of the nicer Whole Foods in the state.  It is large, well-spaced and worth stopping by if you're in the area.

The cash registers are well staffed and the express lines usually have at least 3 cashiers, unlike in West Orange where the express lines often have only 1 register open at a time, defeating the whole purpose.  My only complaint about their express area is that it should be just 1 line serving all instead of 3-4 separate lines.  This would just flow better and be fairer.

    Great produce section.
    Ample frozen goods.
Huge prepared foods area with an abundance of stations and variety.
In fact just about every section/station that is represented at Whole Foods is represented at this location, with one glaring exception:  No alcohol.

They even have an adjacent restaurant.

Sure their prices are high, some insanely so,  however they're more-or-less in line with the entire Whole Foods fleet, so you knew that going in…

Be careful when checking out with certain types of produce or unlabeled items.  The cashiers often make mistakes, charging you for the wrong item when they don't fully recognize an item.

  2. Whole Foods it is on my top two favorite supermarkets. Its an organic food lover's paradise. You can get food here that you will never find at ShopRite Pathmark and the like. Whole Foods is always clean and has very unique products which is like being on the end of a treasure hunt. The staff is always friendly and pleasant when I visited.

I like coming here for lunch because the buffet is  delicious, varies in flavor and food. The only thing I wish would change is the cost. It ain't cheap to shop here. It ain't cheap to eat healthy 🙁 $20 organic lunch

  3. Really big store and chock full of tempting things to buy.  Service is friendly and there is a massive parking lot.  I came in last not for Brooklyn Brine Pickles which have mysteriously dissaperaed from Whole Foods but I still managed to get some excellent cheese and olives from the cheese department.  Prices as in all Whole Foods leave a lot to be desired.  They don't call it whole wallet for nothing.  The layout is wide open and not cramped.  Fresh bread is excellent here and they carry some awesome Kimchi.  I shop here after work which is always dangerous as I come home with impulse purchases.  I like it here and it is a pleasant place to shop.

  4. This is the D- of Whole Foods.

The rotisserie chicken tastes like sawdust, that's number one. Don't bother with it.

Then we went to the butcher to get turkey stuffed with wild rice stuffing, cooked per the cooking instructions. When our meat wasn't getting to temperature we cut it in half, only to find out it wasn't stuffed at all… we paid a stupid amount of money for a plain turkey breast — that we had cooked incorrectly per the instructions.

The checkout lines are always packed and block shopping in the front aisles.

Not worth it… Trader Joe's is down the street.

  5. I've lived in Union County for years now and never had a clue I was *this* close to a Whole Foods.  Only about 25 minutes away from where I live in Elizabeth, this Whole Foods was quite the surprise.  Located in the same large shopping area as a Best Buy and a large Target, this is truly a one stop shop to get a lot of shopping done in one place.

I've been to four Whole Foods in New Jersey now (all in this county or surrounding counties) and this is by far the largest one out of the bunch (this includes the ones in Montclair and Madison).  I was actually shocked at how easy it was to move about the store, especially the produce area which always seems to feel cramped in other branches.

Despite being a busy shopping day, the store was organized and new stock was constantly being reloaded onto shelves.  I picked up some "jerk" marinated chicken breasts that were really tasty when I cooked them later at home.   The tuna salad I picked up (with cranberries) was also very tasty.  While visiting the store I had some of the pineapple fried rice with the thai curry chicken and it was absolutely delicious!  It was good enough to be in a restaurant, no joke (and I've had a ton of curry in my life).  I also had some sweet chili chicken wings which were absolutely delicious.   There was a nice seating area in the front to eat in with the normal supply of napkins, utensils and sauces to add to your food (I didn't need them).

There's a restaurant/bar attached to the Whole Foods, but I didn't get to go there.  I hope to check it out in the future!

The "Whole Paycheck" nickname is partly justified.  While there were some good sales to be had, my overall grocery bill came out to about $20 more than it would at Wegman's, so be prepared to splurge if you come here.  Overall a good experience.

  6. Wholefood is expensive but I still like the store. This location is decent, though a bit cluttered and crowded at times. I prefer the ones in nyc because they're bigger and more spacious. However coming to this one is the more convenient option. The eating area is a nice size and while inside the store still feels separate if you decide to sit in and enjoy something to eat. I also like that just a few doors down is a target.

  7. Love this store. Produce fresh. It's a large store. And the buffet foods are delish and fresh. Busy on weekends. I prefers weekdays

  8. I've never been to such a large Whole Foods Market: you can fit more than 2 carts side by side in each aisle! This place has a huge bakery and plenty of gluten-free items too. As usual with Whole Foods, everything is fresh, the store is clean and well-organized, and the staff is friendly and helpful.
