  1. Love it!  I go to Maoz in the city, and was really excited when I walked in and it was a similar concept, but definitely NOT trying to be a copy or replacement (like red mango of pink berry).  3 choices of how you want your protein (salad bowl, sandwich, or rice plate).  Then you pick protein (kabobs, meatballs, or falafel).  Then you pick 4 extra sides.  I had the rice bowl with jasmine rice, with falafel and chickpea salad, cucumber salad, hummus, and something else.  All were terrific.  I honestly cant wait to go back here again!

  2. Update: They've nixed the sliced lemons that used to reside next to the drink machine, kind of a bummer as it was a classy element you don't see at most "fast food" places. I realize this sounds ridiculous, but it was a little thing that really elevated the whole experience. They have also moved the napkins so you have to literally ask for them at the register (there's a hand-written sign where the napkins used to live). Looks like this place is cutting corners now that their customer base is established, which is pretty disappointing.

  3. I'm writing this review literally as I walked out of this place and got into my car. He only reason this place is getting two stars out of me is because they had sriracha available which seemed to be placed on every customer's table probably to mask the horrible tasteless, flavorless food of theirs.

I walked in with my girlfriend and instantly I wanted to turn back out. To me, it looked exactly like a chipotle layout. She insisted we stay as she's been wanting to try it out for months now. I decided to share a plate with her and not order my own 'cause my gut told me no. Thank god I didn't.

She ended up getting the rice plate with chicken that comes with 4sides. We opted for salad and more rice, no extras and a soda. For the $11.25 it cost, it was most definitely NOT worth it.

We sat down at a table and I took one piece off the chicken skewer, ate it and I swear my stomach turned in knots within about 3-4min as I was searching on yelp for a different place that I wanted to eat at after. The bread that they give you with your meal is no better, it was hard and stale. The food has no taste. No seasoning. And according to my gf, she stopped eating a little after halfway through when she bit into a piece of chicken that was way too tough to even chew. The only good part of this plate was the soda and the rice. But then again, how can one mess up plain white rice?

Parking is very easy to get as there are many spots available. The location seems great. The service I guess was standard but the food is just absolutely horrocious.

Usually, I tend to give places a second chance, a time to redeem themselves but this has fucked me so hard, I wouldn't and will never return to this establishment.

Also, why is there no damn toilet paper in the bathrooms????? C'mon guys, get it together for the sake of people who do come in the future.

  4. 3.5  stars rounded up to 4 because yelp doesn't let me give half stars.
    Service 4 stars
    Food quality 3.5 stars
Overall 3.5 (I give more weight to food!)

At the outset, let me say I was very pleasantly surprised by Wild Fig.  I had been to the location in Glen Cove a few times, and was disappointed every time.  (most times i went as part of a group).  The quality up in Glen cove wasn't good and it was very expensive.

Here in Roslyn, much different.  A vast improvement on the Glen cove place in all areas.

Firstly, Service was fantastic and simple. The style is more "cafeteria style"/"assembly line", much like subway or a burrito place. this in and of itself is a vast improvement in speed and in service.   (One of my complaints about the Glen Cove place was that it was abysmally slow).  Roslyn is not.   There' s an order to things.  Pick from this list, add 4 things from this list, etc.

The food was very good. Fresh, well spiced, etc.  I will give a half-star knock for the amount of Tsatsiki (yogurt sauce) i received.   To me one of the highlights of Mediterranean style food is the yogurt sauce.   I ordered a Chicken Kebab on rice meal.  The rice was a little over cooked, but I'll forgive that and retest next visit.  The chicken was cooked very well, and well spiced. The hummus was very good also.

Price: It is par for the course for Roslyn: about $10 for lunch.

Bottom line: will add to the lunch place rotation.

  5. I haven't totally made up my mind. The restaurant is set up like a Chipotle, in the way that you order, and pick out your food.

It is definitely pricey for what it is, but I'm sure that's just their way of making you contribute to the expensive real estate in the area.

The best way I can describe Wild Fig so far — it looks better than it tastes.

When I think Turkish/Mediterranean food… I immediately think of food rich in spices and just simply put packing lots of flavor!

However the food was a bit on the blander side believe it or not.

Specifically the chicken flatbread pide thing… looked friggin great, however the taste didn't match the looks unfortunately.

I'll definitely be heading here at least one more time to give them another chance when I head out of the office for lunch.

  6. This is my go to spot for lunch. About $10 for a Greek salad with two chicken kabobs. I feel like it's such a good deal and I never leave hungry. The plate is so much more than I can handle. although I do love this place, the only thing i wish was a little better was the chicken kabobs. I feel like they can taste better but truthfully, I don't really mind it too much. Parking is pretty open and service is extremely quick.

  7. SO! SO! SO! GOOD!

    The Chipotle of Mediterranean food.

You pick a base of either rice or salad, then add your protein (chicken, steak, falafel), then all of your toppings (lots of veggies, hummus, falafel, interesting salads).

You can also go the Pide root, which is like their version of a pizza. They come in a lot of different varieties and are definitely big enough to share. I recommend getting your own salad or rice bowl, and then getting a Pide to split amongst yourselves. Or just eat all of that by yourself because it is that good.

They also have wine and beer.

Truly what more could you want? (nothing)

  8. Have passed this spot many times and finally decided to give it a try.  Was pleasantly surprised.

You order from the counter and tell them how you want it. ( no waitress service… Etc) We both ordered the salad bowls to go with the Steak Kebob, and lots of fun choices to go on top like olives, banana peppers, feta, babaganoush and so on. But then the brick oven pides caught my eye, and had the get their version of the meat lovers, although the one I got did not have mushrooms or peppers as listed on the sign, but that was just perfect for me since I do not really like either…. And it was amazing.  The other options looked good also.  Basically another variation of pizza but with different flavors, what could be wrong with that.  You must try these.

We took out,but they have tables so you can eat there, but it is very bright and kind of sterile looking and not inviting to sit, at least not for dinner.  I could see it being ok setting for casual lunch.

The only complaint was that the steak was a little inconsistent…some pieces were tender and flavorful and others tough and not so.

They do serve wine and beer which was kind of interesting.  Prices are also not absorbent like so many In the area.  We will be back for pickup meals and see if the next meal pushes my 3.5 to s 4.
