Fell in love with this restaurant last night. Has an awesome city vibe to it, so it's like you're stepping out of Great Neck for a moment. Great for family, friends, or dates. The décor is beautiful. The space is huge. The service was solid. And the food did not disappoint. I got the Chilean sea bass, and it may have been the best I've ever had. Melted in my mouth. Came with bok choy and rice. Also, you HAVE to get the Vietnamese salad. It's out of this world. I tried a scallops dish and a shrimp dish, and they were delicious and fresh. Our group ordered the mango bomba and green tea ice cream for dessert, and they were the perfect ending to a lovely dinner.
Loved the pan seared tuna dish and dumplings! Will def order from here again. Quick delivery too!
This place is great for any occasion. I usually come here with my other mother and my daughter. I have, on the many times I have been here, never been disappointed. The food is delicious on a consistent basis, whether I am ordering sushi, cooked foods, salad, (avcado salad my personal favorite) pad Thai, their soups, everything is tasty. I never feel rushed either. The staff has always been kind and attentive. A great find.
At 6pm, on a Sunday night, in such a roomy restaurant, my friend and I entered a nearly vacant Wild Ginger.
We were seated by a waitress immediately adjacent to an elderly couple. Awk. "What about that other-" nope, she was adamant we sit at the one she pointed out..
The food was okay – pretty good actually (flavorful & well-cooked). We ordered the Garlic Shrimp and a Beef dish, which came with a small scoop of rice on the side. But what we ate amounted to $40. kinda pricey, no? They were medium sized plates of food.
Service wasn't the friendliest (aka they were pretty cold). They don't speak English well either. Looking around, I think my friend and I were the only Asian customers in the entire restaurant (even with more ppl who had rolled on in). There are no chopsticks provided. and when we asked for hot tea, we were served hot water in glass cups normally used for milkshakes err… The place is a tad odd…
Ugh, Wild Ginger. Great Neck's go-to restaurant if you're craving Chinese, but don't want takeout, but get the same food at a higher price. The same goes for sushi, it's the place you go if you're trying to please a large crowd, eat semi-decent food, but have a nice ambiance and great service.
I've been coming here for years both for takeout and dining-in and each time I always ask myself WHY?! I know 10 other locations to get better sushi, and 10 other locations to get better Chinese. Then I remember: location, atmosphere, wait service. Maybe I'm being a little too harsh but each time it's not here nor there when it comes to food. Yes, the prices are decent and it's edible, but it's nothing great, but rather, convenient.
I always heard mixed reviews about this place. My boyfriend and I decided to give it a shot a few weeks ago. I had the Peppercorn Shrimp & Steak and the food was just –eh, okay. We've had better food at better prices. However, I went back with my friend shortly after for drinks and lunch. I ordered a side of shrimp fried rice with dipping sauce, and the food was much better!
Ordered from here while at work thinking I was going to satisfy my thai cravings, but it didn't. Delivery was quick, however, food was not great. I ordered Pad Thai, which was below mediocre. The only thing that was good was my spicy mango shrimp sushi. I guess, at least I gave this spot a try, but I won't be ordering from here again.
My favorite date spot. The ambience is great, the food is excellent, the service is impeccable, you can dress casual or dressy depending if you go for lunch or dinner. They offer take out and have amazing drinks! Must try their martinis, one martini is all you need. The parking situation is ideal you can get valet or just park for yourself and it's located centrally so if you go for lunch it's a great neighborhood to show after.
