  1. Pulled in for some dock 'n dine last Saturday.  Good dude on the dock gave me and my buddy, both relatively new to dock 'n dine, some good tips for future visits (and made us feel pretty amateurish in the mean time).

Lunch at the tiki bar hit the spot, great views, good food, and very reasonable prices.  Good bloody mary ($6) that probably could've used a little extra kick, and a delicious turkey club wrap ($8).  Could've done without the hair on the pickle (that's what she said), but I'm not squeamish so I didnt say anything and ate it anyway (although it did cost them the 4th star).

Friendly bartender spent a lot more time with the regulars than looking after us, but I'd rather have a social bartender at this type of spot anyway.

Supposedly excellent food and service to go with the views inside, and at night the hip-hop/dance DJ turns it up a notch.

  2. Been to Windansea a couple of times for dinner – never had their entrees but we've had both their sandwiches and burgers which are very tasty especially the blue cheese burger and the steak sandwich (real steak too, not steak-ums crap). They would get another star from me if their sandwich/burgers came with fries (instead they're served with some odd wagonwheel pasta salad thats always bland and kinda stupid to be served with a hamburger) Good wine list, delicious creative cocktails and a nice large bar area which gets "nightclubby" after 9pm with local bands or a DJ, Fun times!

  3. My experience was solid. My mussels were great.  The sauce was soo flavorful.  Lastly, the garlic bread with cheese on top tasted amazing dipped into the rich tomato and white wine sauce.  The service and drinks were fine, as expected.  The dinner salad at $1.99 is a steal.  Eat more salad 🙂

  4. Seafood restaurant in Highlands, NJ. Right on the water with a great view of the harbor if you can square away a outside table. The outside balcony seating is small so the tables are few and far between. Supposedly 2 hour wait when we were there. Inside seating was 30 min.

We ordered these items which i thought was the highlights. Fried calamari, grilled shrimp, lobster avocado salad. All were deliscious. The bacon wrapped scallops i thought was a bit small and greasy as it was fried on the grill. The main i had was the crab cakes which was pretty salty. Friends at the table also ordered the seafood mix pasta which was way overboard on the pasta and the fish seemed kinda frozen and fishy taste/smell. Overall the lobster pasta dish was a hit.

Service was a bit scattered as they got some salad and drink orders wrong and was a bit scarce on checking up on us but apologetic. It's a ok spot for dinner but in the area you'll find better spots.

  5. Can't believe we never reviewed this place! Expensive….Yes. However, apps during happy hour 4 – 6:30 are half price as well as $5 vodka drinks and wine.  Fish Tacos that "M" had in the past were delicious, crab dip pretzel, bacon wrapped scallops are great too.  Oysters are 1.50 each.  Outdoor seating at the bar can be crowded and hard to get service, seating on the deck is our favorite.  The view of sandy hook and the the boats coming and going is great, especially during sunset.  Parking on the street is tough, just circle around the block a few times.

  6. One of my friends recommended this place and said this place was really good, so i figure i give it a try because if you don't try, then you don't know, after a long day bike riding to asbury park, we went to this place, having 2 road bikes on top of my car, i was no way going to give the keys to the valet person, the valet person said you can park it yourself a couple of blocks down, still a no for me, so i decided i rather take a risk and park the car outside on the street, the bikes were locked onto my rack and were still there after dinner, wahoo, i would never do this in nyc.

now to the food, service was kind of slow for me, the lady trying her best, but the restaurant seemed to be understaffed, i had the seafood frav…, where in the world do jalapeno's mix with seafood?? I couldn't even taste the seafood, the pasta that came with the seafood was decent, this entree had scallops, shrimp, fish, clams.  The fish was too fishy for me.  The scallops seem to be under cooked, bad experience for me.  I took a piece of crab cake from my friend and it was decent, tasted really fresh, but my friend said it was too salty, i guess i didn't really taste it when i had the small portion.  The calamari was decent, cooked pretty well.

They have outdoor seating if you want to wait an eternity, if you hungry, not the best of ideas.

It was an okay place, not the greatest, would definitely go somewhere else when in the area next time.

  7. Nice place for outside dining and boozing. Two outdoor bars and a band every Sunday in the summer. The seafood tastes fresh and the service is good. Came here recently with a party of 7 and were told the wait would be 1 hour and 15 minutes, but we were seated in 10 minutes. Can't beat that!
