  1. Standard Happy Hour prices,
$5 for beer, $5-6 for wine, and $6 well drink.

It gets pretty busy during HH time, but afterwards it's empty.

  2. Expensive, with few good wine options for it beig a wine bar (in my opinion). The cheese plate was $16 for three cheeses and the cheese selection was incredibly underwhelming. For the prices, I expected better. Meh. But hey at least it was half empty during happy hour, so easy to find seats?

  3. Last Friday I went to Wined Up, located in the Flatiron area directly above Punch. The bar-lounge is beautifully lit with soft light and seductive architecture. For all of those who love wine, "Wined up" offers a wall of floating 3,000 bottles to sample from all over the world.
I shared a plate sample of cheeses and meats. We had the sartori stravecchio and the rogue creamery smokey blue as our cheeses. Sooooo yummy!!! We also had some great chorizo on the side!
The servers were very prompt and knowledgeable. Please we sat there from 7pm- 12am and they did not "shoo" us out.

Tip: There is a coat check that is available at no cost to patrons.

  4. Went here for a company lunch recently and had a great time. I'm not sure what the normal dining experience is like for regular service, but for our private lunch it was wonderful. I had the bean puree soup, hanger steak, and brownie along with a glass of pinot grigio and a glass of chianti. Everything I had was delicious. Everyone enjoyed the food and the service was attentive and polite.

I would love to come back here as a normal walk-in guest at some point just to check out the normal, everyday service. This is a nice find, especially considering I always have a difficult time finding good places to eat in this neighborhood. Glad to have been introduced to it.

  5. We started a my best friends last night out as a single lady here and it was our favorite spot of the night. I thought the wine selection was great and the cheese plate was excellent. We bought a bottle of bubbles to celebrate and they were kind enough to let us taste the 2 we could not decide between. If we're supposed to wait for the waiter to serve us each glass, then he was a bit slow. But who tortures their waiter with such things? Overall we really enjoyed our time there. It was quiet enough that we could talk before the night got going and the menu was great. I highly recommend it be your first stop on a night out.

  6. My husband and I chose a quiet Monday evening after the July 4th weekend and got a quiet corner table.  At first the back ground music was soft, but later they turned up the volume, which reminded me of many reviewers saying this place was loud.  I could easily see that happening with the way they had the music on a very quiet evening.

Good:  The list of wine by the glass is larger than most.  The pour is fine.  Prices are OK.  Very good fries, good and large beet salad, special cucumber soup was good.  They had good AC, and the decor is simple showcasing all the wines on the walls.

Meh:  The service was fine.  I just expected some more wine info/talk coming from the staff, but not much at all.  Tuna tartar was swimming in this sweet sauce, yuck.

I would come back to try more wine and food since I live nearby, but the noise would be a huge concern.

  7. Came by for dinner with a few friends Friday night.

Nice ambiance, decent wine selection and reasonably priced. Friendly staff.

Menu items are kind of limited. We ordered a bunch of appetizers, the mahi mahi tacos were good, and the ricotta was delicious too. The rest of the food was good but nothing terribly exciting or impressive. Mushroom ravioli main course was good. We got the brownie & ice cream dessert, the brownie was rather dry.

I wouldn't mind coming back but probably just for drinks.

  8. Exactly what I consider a 3-star, a few pluses, a few minuses, absolutely average.

We did not make it for happy hour but the place was still quite busy on a rainy Wednesday night. Myself and my date squeezed two chairs into the bar. After an hour of waiting for the couple next to us to leave (hadn't refilled wine the entire time we were there, had the bill in front of them), the Bartender noticed this and found us recently-vacated more comfortable seats at the end of the bar. Plus.

Nice selection of wines, as you would expect, and the bartender was knowledgeable and open to letting you taste as well as switch the glassware. But, an average of $14 a glass is quite pricey, especially if you end up drinking 3 or 4. Minus.

My date ordered the bruschetta, assuming this would be a heavily tomato dish. It was not. It was actually ricotta cheese based as a dip with bread. He wasn't happy, I told him he should have read it. Draw.

I probably would have preferred the lights dimmed a bit more for a bit of a sexier, romantic ambiance.  Like I said, average right?
