Winegasm

“The Chocolate Fondue was semisweet and so indulgent, the pound cake that was served with this was just out of this world.”

“Everything we ordered ranging from the steak crostini to the meatballs They have a great wine selection and also offer wine flights.”

“The bacon wrapped prunes were just as great, the prune paired perfectly with the crispy savory bacon, they were pretty addictive.”

  1. 5 stars for super waiter Jonathan and for the cozy ambience, but other wise, a complete thumbs down for food/wine/rip off. Believe all the reviews if you were foolish to visit with a Groupon. We try to pick and choose wisely and use Groupon to experience a new or far away offer, but this annoyed me to no end. They were out of at least 3 or 4 of the red wine flights, sweet sherry and then at the end, would only offer the horrid dry sherry for the finale. Feeling sorry for us I am sure, Jonathan offered a sweet, pink and effervescent Moscato that we both loved, albeit a 7 dollar bottle in the stores. This was a Friday eve at 5 pm. How is a wine bar out of half of the menu wines and Sherry ?? And why are they even showcasing bargain bottles of wine ??
And who serves carrots with fondue ?? Who ??
The good news, I was pro active instead of just bitching and called Groupon… They have noted that there have been other complaints as well and I urged them to stop offering a deal for this vendor. They issued me a small credit, enough to take the sting out of the tax that was charged on the bogus 75 dollar value. Grrrr

  2. Winegasm is cute. It's a small space, intimate wooden tables. Great for a date and not too expensive at all. Quiet enough for conversation. The food is tasty and you can easily share. The one downside was my beer. I don't remember exactly what I had but it was a little too room temperature for me. Yes, I know, some beers require this (especially if it's an import), but whether that was the case or not, it wasn't expected.

  3. Came in last night to celebrate a birthday. I was immediately satisfied with the incredibly intimate atmosphere. I automatically knew that this was a place I would want to return. We arrived right when their doors were opened at 5pm. We browsed the flight/wine menu. I decided on the Chardonnay-Hail To The Queen flight-$14. I also ordered the truffle Mac n Cheese. All of the wines in the flight were excellent! The truffle Mac n Cheese was slammin'! I'm going to go out on a limb and say that was the best Mac n Cheese I've ever had. Even better than my aunt's Mac n Cheese that I grew up eating. It came out piping hot and was incredibly creamy and cheesy.

After my Chardonnay flight I finished off the night with about 3 glasses of Malbec which was very delicious. I also tried the red sangria which was also delicious. Service was kind of slow at times but the service was incredibly friendly and genuine. As the evening went on more and more patrons began to come in. I'd definitely consider making a reservation if you're coming in on a weekend after 7pm. Winegasm was a great find and I will definitely be back and bring my friends!

  4. Winegasm has been on my list of places to try for a few years now. My best friend and I finally made our way to Winegasm and enjoyed every minute of our time there. We arrived at 5 and were seated  promptly since we were the first one's there. Our waitress was nice, and pretty attentive until the place started filling up.

We ordered two flight of wine, hummus, goat cheese & beet salad, as well as the truffle mac n cheese. The wine was great as was my salad. The hummus was good but not the best I've had. (My grandmothers hummus is honestly the best ever.) my bff liked her mac n cheese as well.

The ambiance was nice and decor was perfect for a wine bar. I'd definitely like to go back and try some of their other wines from their extensive list.

  5. I came here with a Groupon deal and still felt ripped off. The fondue for two was served with some diced bread, bits of carrots and apples and was just OK. I love cheese but this blend was nothing special. I had the pinot noir flight and again, the selection was just OK. I do like that they have several different kinds of flights to choose from so maybe another line would have better wines. The glasses were also barely filled – not sure if this is standard or a "groupon" thing. The night ended with some sherry. The space is nice and intimate and the staff is friendly enough but the menu seems overpriced and the wine selection isn't that great.

  6. Met up with a girlfriend here at Winegasm the other week on a quiet Sunday evening. It has a dark, rustic, romantic atmosphere that makes it a solid destination for date night! I had purchased a Groupon, which we redeemed for two wine flights and their cheese fondue. The pot was served with an assortment of apple, carrot, and crouton pieces – the latter of which I personally thought were too tough to pierce through with the provided fork because they ended up crumbling off instead.

Additionally, we had ordered the prosciutto & arugula pizzeta. Everything was good, but nothing that would really "wow" you. I was quite pleased with my Latin Lovers flight, though, that I ordered another one called Viva Espana. Definitely a cool spot to check out if you've never been and don't mind a small menu, but not somewhere I would go again.

  7. WINEGASM!!! It's like wine is having a Gasm! Want to know how that made me feel?!? I was jumping up and down how excited I was. I mean like the name in itself is perfect! It was so good that this was my response:
                             Disappointed.
                              That's what.
Their cheese fondue had so much mustard in it my eyes were watering and my nose was burning… It actually hurt to eat the food. I ordered truffle fries along with that and there was a nice truffle flavor on the top, but anywhere beyond that was sorely disappointing. I had ordered a glass of their Pinot Noir, and my dining partner had ordered a Rosé, but as they were running low, apparently I ordered to sherrys to the order. Whatever.  Drank them and paid. For the miscommunication they gave us some house white sangria, but tbh I was quite disappointed by my experience with this restaurant. I was so excited to go try this place, like comon'…. The name….

  8. Came here with friends after having dinner at a different location. I was still hungry so I ordered the truffle mac n cheese with bacon. After some debate we went with a bottle of white from Argentina,  I don't remember the name.

The person that waited on us was helpful and nice. We got our bottle of wine and chatted. Then the truffle mac n cheese came out. Omg it was delicious. My friends claimed they weren't hungry but ended up eating half of the plate lol.

The decor is rustic wood and metal elements with low lighting. It's a small space with a few seats outdoors. This place is a nice spot to end the night with a glass of wine.
