“Their creamed spinach and German potatoes compliment the steak perfectly.”
“Yes, even better than Peter Luger's. The service is passable but the steaks speak for themselves.”

We came here for some friends who wanted a porterhouse. I only had a piece of the filet side but it was excellent. It's their specialty. Surprisingly the seafood was good too. I had the seafood platter. 3 oysters, 2 shrimp, and a huge portion of crab meat. Quite delicious. My friend had the sea bass which was an enormous portion and quite good. The side mushrooms and creamed spinach were perfect additions. A bite of the cheesecake was a nice ending to a good meal. Go hungry
Excellent service; excellent food. Traditional steakhouse. Not as good as Peter Luger or Delmonicos, but I will return for sure as their locations are very accessible all over Manhattan.
What a dinner!! I have never been a huge seafood plan, but when the table ordered the seafood platter I was delighted! Everything tasted fresh! I enjoyed a perfectly cooked medium rare steak with creamed spinach, asparagus, and mashed potatoes. The service was white glove! They explained the menu choices and were friendly, attentive and quick!
I think I'll confidently say that Wolfgang's is the best steak I've had in New York. I've been there at least 5 times (around its different locations) and its consistently been good. Got the steak for two every time, and each time, the meat was so tender and flavorful. Paired with their famous sauce, it definitely left a strong impression on my mind. Aside from the steak, the seafood platter was also really fresh and the thick-cut Canadian bacon as an appetizer also stood out!
Stunning interior. We went only to have a drink at the bar to see the beautiful interior. The staff was great while the place was very busy at 6ish on a weekday.
We only had drinks and can't comment on the food.
One of the best steak houses in the world! I don't make statements like this loosely and do feel I can comment on steak houses (having tried to top 32 in Chicago as well as many across the US, UK and Italy). It is hard for top end steak houses to differentiate themselves these days, there are so many, but Wolfgang's did. Service was perfect, professional, friendly but not stuffy or condescending.
Strip of Canadian bacon was delicious. The right amount of fat, right amount of char, and a lot of flavor.
Tomato and onion salad was the weak link, good but not great. Tomatoes tasted a little supermarket-ish rather than heirloom. The bleu cheese was plentiful but not too exciting.
The porterhouse, the reason you come here, was perfect. Perfectly cooked. Perfect flavor. More than enough for the two of us (and that is saying something from me). It was the perfect porterhouse.
I would not normally order mashed potatoes but these were great, I even took seconds.
Loved the sautéed onions. First place where I actually got enough.
Great steak house you highly recommend.
I wanted to come here for long time and I finally had a chance! It was great dinner.
Although this is a steakhouse, shrimp cocktail was spectacular!! It had a fancy presentation, spicy, but sweet cocktail sauce, and jumbo shrimp!! Totally loved it
I came here with my husband. We are usually small eater, so we shared the steak. Even though we shared it, we became so full.
One thing, I did't like about here is too much noise inside. I think it's because the unique architecture.
If you are looking for some place to talk, this is NOT a place because of the noise inside, but if you are looking for a great food, this is it!
Treated myself to a BIRTHDAY LUNCH
Medallions of Filet Mignon w/ Mushroom Sauce $35
-The medallions were plump and bursting forth, perfectly medium rare
-The sear was very crisp, but not burnt (A high heat skillet was definitely used, and a high level of skill)
-As soon as you bite into that crisp, you can taste the brown caramelized top, there was SO MUCH FLAVOR
-The demi glace was a little light to me, very yellowy (maybe too much butter) and it was slightly sweet because of the Sherry
-Came with creamed spinach and mash potatoes
Creamed Spinach
-WOW. The steak was masterfully cooked, but this creamed spinach MADE THE MEAL. It was so decadent and creamy. There is a lot of butter but it added to the rich mouthfeel. I could eat a whole plate of this!
Mashed Potatoes
-Seasoned very well. The texture was incredibly SMOOTH, no clumps or small pieces of potato
Very surprised at NO WINE MENU?? My taste of Malbec was terrible, but the waiter offered a nice sweet Cab instead.
Note: This was my first ever steakhouse in NYC
