  1. I really wanted noodles last week when it was one of those "Why am I wearing a jacket this heavy right now?!" Days. This looked like a good place for that, featuring the hand pulled noodles. I got the duck noodles, and my fiancée got the dumpling noodles (that order got mixed up, but the dumplings were really good so I won't fault them) and we split an order of the fried dumplings. The dumplings were hot and full of porky goodness- everything I'd hoped for and more. I also loved the way they packaged the to go orders, with the noodles separate from the soup, so as not to have over cooked or mushy noodles when you get around to eating it. There was more than enough noodles and soup for two meals for us. And the star, the noodles themselves? Well, just as the best Italian restaurants make their own pasta, these noodles stood out from all the other premade noodles I've had before. They're just… better! So, if you find yourself wanting noodle soup on a cold (or even not so cold) day, this is where I'd go.

  2. A great simple hand-pulled noodle place that has really flavorful soups for cheap affordable prices. I always get the house special because I like variety (this includes some duck, vegetables, a fried egg, some beef, beef tripe, and other options) but I think all of the options should be good. The shop is run by a team of 5 at any point in the day and the soup is constantly stewing in the back. All the ingredients are tasty and the broth is full of beef broth flavor.

Note that the restaurant itself might be a bit hard to find since 5924 8th avenue really refers to a number of different stores that wrap around the corner. Look at the pictures that the other yelp reviewers have posted or turn the corner on 60th St. toward seventh Avenue in order to find the restaurant.

  3. My bf and I literally ate a buffet here. We ordered:
    1 beef stew noodle soup,
    1 beef noodle soup,
    1 beef stir fried noodles,
1 order of steamed dumplings, and
    1 scallion pancake!

As you may have guessed, we ordered way too much food for two people but at the same time, it allowed us to get a taste of different things from the menu. Overall, we were pretty much satisfied with everything. The noodle soups, alone, were probably enough to fill us up because they gave such a generous amount of noodles! My bf and I felt like we were eating and eating but the noodle soup was a bottomless pit. We didn't end up finishing it all, but now we know not to order more than we can eat. For the price and taste, this place is such a great hole-in-the-wall! Just go in with an empty stomach and you're bound to leave bloated with a happy wallet.

  4. Delicious and cheap hand-pulled noodle dishes. I've gotten the noodles with dumpling (in broth) and the fried noodles with pork (broth on the side), and have no complaints. Definitely will be back to try other things on the menu, including the fried dumplings. The food tastes fresh and is filling. You can see the guy behind the counter pulling the noodles!

There is a small amount of seating inside and is clean. The service has been relatively fast the times I was there. After eating, you can leave the dishes on the table and they will collect them.

As with most small Chinese restaurants like this, it is cash only.

  5. There are few things better on a cold day than a hot bowl of hand pulled noodles. Wong Good Hand Pull Noodle even has the word "good" in its name, so it must be true, right? Thankfully, that is the case.

I went with the house special hand pulled noodle (#1 on the menu), and it was the proverbial everything but the kitchen sink. No, really. There was beef, tripe, pork chop, a fried egg, and various other innards. Needless to say, I happily ate it all.

The noodles are great and fresh. The broth is very meaty. They'll give you a bowl of broth with your meal if you're eating dry noodles too, which is cool.

Not much on atmosphere, but it's a great place for a quick and cheap meal.

Will probably come back to have some dumplings.

  6. My girlfriend and I stopped here for a quick bite before meeting up with some friends.

This small noodle shop is owned and operated by fujianese people.

Service is fast, order at the counter, sit down then they bring it out to you within 5 minutes.

Prices are cheap and reasonable. Flavors of the broth are on point.

Quick little noodle stop in front of the B9 bus stop.  Note that this is not a lanzhou style noodle spot, and the noodles themselves don't have the springiness and chewiness of a high quality pulled noodle.  However, the food is decent and reasonably priced, the portion is solid, and the location is fairly convenient.  Definitely not a destination spot, but worth stopping by if you're in the neighborhood and want a quick bowl of noodles.  It's pretty cramped inside with seating for maybe 10-15 people and hit or miss in terms of being able to seat a group larger than 2 or 3.

  8. One does not simply walk through Brooklyn's Chinatown without eating something. Today, I decided since there was no rain in sight, that I would tease myself and walk around 8th Avenue and see what was on today's menu.  From dumpling bbq carts to restaurants, it's really tough to decide, especially if you're dining alone.  My nose led me here.

The chef was super nice and welcomed me with a big hello as soon as I walked in. Above the counter, there is a menu written in both Cantonese and English of what they offer. Prices were incredibly reasonable, and you can get a better sense of what to order by just simply looking around at what everybody else is eating.  If you're not in the mood for hand pulled noodles, or soup, then I would suggest to save this place for a rainy day, or a cold day for that matter. To me, every day is a great day to have soup! I finally decided to have hand pulled noodles with ox tail.  Literally after 5 minutes of ordering, a waitress was handing me my piping hot bowl of soup.  The portion was great for lunch, and the broth was deep in beef flavor.  If you're sensitive to salt, you might want to try another menu option.  I sat across from an older Chinese man, and he seemed amused at my chopsticks skills.  Glad I was entertaining.

$7 for a filling lunch that's healthy is hard to come by; I will be back, and I might just bring friends with me!
