Really enjoyed my Jerk Chicken Meal with Rice and Beans with Steamed Cabbage.
They had no porridge when I came that day 🙁
ENTREE
The cabbage was really soft and gave the meal nice texture. The rice was so warm and homey, however, the chicken, was dynamite! The flavor and seasoning just POPS in your mouth. The Jerk sauce was really good. I've never had "Sweet Sauce" but it's REALLY SWEET and it has an intense smokiness that I wasn't expecting. If you've never had it, beware, but after your palate adjusts to the sweetness, it really complements the chicken well.
Definitely get ginger beer with your food!
After trying both Yardies and "Jerk Hut" (on Linden Blvd), I have to say I prefer Yardies by a hair. Although, Jerk Hut DOES has a smoothie section connected to the store!
Other reviewers have praised the oxtail, stew chicken, and ackee and saltfish

Hole in the wall with 3 dining stools, take out joint.
When it comes to Haitian food specifically Jamaican food I am all about oxtail baby I love sucking the bones trying to siphon out the marrow and juices and gnawing on the grizzle, there's nothing like it unfortunately it's not as fun afterwards to have to clean your fingers off especially if they don't have a washroom, but that's par for the course. This place has a good product not over the top blown away, the rice n beans was very good, cabbage on the side definitely didn't work kinda raw with no flavor. The oxtail was good but could've used more ox and tail. All the typical items including all the jerk options, patties and plantains that you would normally expect from a Jamaican establishment.
The portion was large for $14 but camouflaged with rice. I don't know if I would go out of my way to come back to dine in but would order take out if I lived closer.
We decided to come here per the recommendation of my cousin. I sent my fiancé inside to grab a menu because our son was asleep in the car. He was inside for about 10 mins before he returned. As he is approaching the car, he is empty handed. Why?? No paper menu.
After getting passed the fact there was no menu, I ordered a curry goat with white rice and veggies. He ordered a jerk chicken with rice and peas and veggies and a side order of potato salad.
He said that his jerk chicken left much to be desired. There wasn't much flavor compared to some other places we've visited. The rice was ok. My curry goat was ok. It was flavorful but the meat wasn't the tender melt in your mouth consistency I'm used to. The plantains though they were yellow were not very flavorful. (I consider myself a self-proclaimed Plaintain Connoisseur.). They had that starchy taste to them. We both did agree that the steamed vegetables were good did have a sweet note to them. My Rice was over cooked though. It had the consistency of what I used to give my son when he began eating solid foods. I am an adult which means I like to feel the different textures as I eat my food. Hopefully this was a one time isolated incident.
I will return to perhaps try something else on the menu.
After driving by here on numerous occasions and seeing their multiple YouTube advertisments, I've finally tried their food.
Small store but the food was delicious! I walked to a greeting with a smile (*rare*) and a hello (even more *rare*). I was impressed lol jk… it was nice though. They also sell items such as authentic jerk seasoning, ackee (in the can), hard dough bread, bun and cheese and some west Indian pastries.
I was planning on trying their jerk chicken (my absolute favorite and a staple Jamaican dish) but they were sold out. So, I instead ordered a small oxtail with rice and peas and cabbage for my dad and I got a mini stew chicken with cabbage for myself. All together I paid $13, not bad at all. I can't comment personally on the oxtail, as I don't eat beef, but my dad said it had a nice flavor with a slight spice to it. He enjoyed it.
My stew chicken was on point! Perfect amount for one meal. Three thigh pieces seasoned perfectly and saucy with carrots, just how I like it! The sauce was a tad bit spicy but not overpowering. I liked the way they serve their steamed cabbage, its shredded thin which sort of reminded me of coleslaw. It was delicious alone but even better mixed with the stew chicken sauce.
I would return to try other items on their menu.
