  1. Yiayia's offers a homey, cozy, feel with excellent homemade Greek food.  Service can be slightly slow, but the food more than makes up for it.  Tzatziki sauce is deliciously garlicy and the pitas are warm and yummy.  Prices are fair.  Spanakopita and stuffed grape leaves are a must.  Much more friendly and warm than other Greek restaurants in the area.  One of my must have lunch spots!

  2. I have to admit, the first time I tried YiaYia's, I wasn't too impressed. I thought the tzatzaki was too garlicky and I wasn't digging my gyro with the shaved chicken. Fast forward a handful of months later and I'm now a fan! I ordered the falafel gyro which was so delicious. The falafel were so tasty and the gyro itself, with hummus, fries, tomato and onion on a soft pita was just so good. There's plenty of hummus and pita in the appetizer dish and is quite filling. I also loved their moussaka. I'm not typically a huge fan of moussaka but I find myself now wanting it regularly! I didn't want it to end. It was perfectly cooked and so flavorful. I was sad when we finished eating it. If you order a gyro platter, know in advance that it isn't a typical gyro, just sides of pita with meat and the dressings from an original on the side. Almost all the dishes come with a fresh greek salad which is a nice refreshing bonus. Not the biggest menu but enough to find a few favorites. They take credit cards and offer delivery but have limited seating in their storefront.

  3. I imagine if I had a Yiayia, her food would taste like this! Everything was so yummy-I'm glad we made this choice (thanks Yelp!) Very authentic cuisine and such a quaint place. The decorations down to the tablecloths were cute and they had a wall full of shelves, which housed many different authentic Greek specialty foods, which I thought was a nice touch. The staff was very friendly and it's BYOB, for which they are very acommodating. We started with the four mezzes (dips) which included Tzatziki, hummus, a garlic spread and an eggplant spread. The worse thing ever when you have one of these plates with delicous spreads but no pita-not to worry here because it came with plenty and it was warm and flaky and delicious. We shared a greek salad which I learned from my favorite Greek who was accompanying me, that this was the "Real deal". Tomatoes, cucumbers, feta and olives-no lettuce. This was very similar actually to a lot of my Italian salads I had eaten as a child and it was seasoned appropriately with the perfect amount of dressing. My friend got the pasticchio which looked excellent. It was so filling that she ate half and took the other back to her husband. I went with something I know I liked, chicken souvlaki, which was served with a hardy pita, tzatziki sauce and lettuce, tomato, onions. It comes with fries, but I opted for rice instead. Needless to say we were too full for dessert. I really enjoyed our stay-it was authentic full of flavorful food and attentive staff, but the only thing that caused me to take away the stars was the abundance of fruit flies. I don't know if it was the wine or what but we spent a good majority of our dinner swatting away 3-4 pesky flies. Overall, like I said it'd be great-especially for lunch or takeout next time. The price was reasonable and the food was definitely worth it!

  4. This place is solid… and I'm into Greek food.   I make moussaka and tzdaki at home from scratch.   I've only tried a few items so far, and really liked each visit.   I also get their feta cheese to go b/c it's the bomb, and way better than the (more expensive) feta I had been getting at Whole Foods.   The owner is really nice… old-school Greek guy.

  5. I wanted to like this place.  It reminded me of the  casual Greek places I went to growing up.  Sadly, this was a fail.  The people are nice but nice doesn't cover bad service.  We literally had to chase our waitress down to get water and there were only two tables being served in the whole place.  The dips and pita we started with were very tasty.  The greek fries were also nicely done.  The entrees were where things went south.  The pork souvlaki was dry and lacked flavor.  The lamb souvlaki was overdone and I couldn't detect any seasoning.  The chicken with greek potatoes was super dry.  The white meat was inedible.  The greek potatoes were yummy.  Lastly, the Moussaka was good but nothing special as compared to other Greek restaurants in our area..  They were out of desserts.  I know it was the night after Christmas but why open if you are out of so many things and the food was way too dry.  My family said they would prefer not to come back.  I will honor that request.

  6. It's like your mom and pop's store!! if you want Greek food, this is the place to go… they have the best dip ever for your bread (pita bread) and you will find yourself wanting to eat all the pita bread because of the dip… Moussaka is very delicious!! Stuffed grape leaves and falafel is also great!!!
the place is small and there are not a lot of worker/helpers… but i tell you it worth the wait!!! i had been here for lunch and dinner… and both time are great!! i brought my friend here for lunch and now this become her favorite !! 🙂
