This is a perfect alternative to Kellog's diner for late night grub. I was so psyched when I asked when they closed, and he was like, "Whenever…". That could mean never, I'm not sure. It could mean whenever they decide. Anyways, the food was pretty cheap, came quickly and was decent.
The service was amazing and I love this space. Def coming back after a few drinks when I'm in this neighborhood.
A sure thing for consistently great Mexican food in Williamsburg. I am a taco person and usually go with either the fish or ground beef tacos with greens pepper sauce and gauc which fills me up every-time. If you call in for pickup they usually will have it ready within 15 mins of when you call. They have a dining room and a separate entrance for pick ups. Its also right off the Metropolitan G-L stop.
This place is slow and the food is ok. Nothing special. However, the food is not worth for the price as they are little too plain… Would have used the same amount of money for somewhere else like Chipotle and gotten a better food for the price…
I'm surprised about the one-star wrath and an alarming ratio of filtered reviews, but I've enjoyed Yola's on my three or four visits here. My favorite item so far has been chilaquiles. I also liked the cecina taco, especially with the addition of green and fiery red sauces. The carnitas burrito was respectable but not profound. The service has always been good.
We stopped in because this looked like a good grab-n-go, but we waited 20 minutes for 3 tacos. I had the carnitas taco and it was a little too fatty.
That said, they offer the corn-tortilla based, no frills kind of tacos that I really love, and the service was friendly despite the delay. One extra star for that.
I had just moved much, much closer to this spot in Williamsburg which made me super happy (the location, not being nearby Yola's Café). After a grueling 5-6 hours of moving all my stuff on my own and going through the whole packing / unpacking process, I was famished and in dire need of a Mexican fix. I looked this joint up and decided to place an order for pickup since it was the only joint around that was really open at a late hour. I grabbed the safest option out there – the oh-so-lovable burrito bowl.
After five minutes, the order was accepted and it said it'd be ready in about 25 minutes. Sure, no problem. I head over and get there about 30 minutes after I placed the order – and apparently whoever accepted it decided not to communicate it (lol). They hastily whipped up my order and I was out the door. Upon getting back home, I dug into it and wasn't really blown away. Reminded me of the food you pick up at a small cart on the street or something.
It's not bad and definitely a good idea for a super late night fix, but otherwise there are much better places in the area for Mexican food.
1 star for the atmosphere and sanition (there was a small l insect in the water). But the food was really appetizing, as well as large in portion size, and a great price! I ordered so much food and the whole bill was so low that I can't even remember it.
I feel like there were really mixed reviews for this place, but my friends and I were taking a painting class that was around the corner and wanted something quick, so we decided we'd give it a shot. I don't think it was amazing by any means, but it wasn't bad at all. We were in and out in under an hour, the guy working there was really nice and attentive, and it was pretty cheap. I asked how big the tostadas were and he showed me and suggested I get two if I was hungry. So i got chicken and a chorizo one and added on guacamole for 50 cents. It was pretty good, nothing special though. I added some salsa to give it a little kick since the chicken one was a little bland. I was really full after the two so it was a good choice to get two. One friend got a wrap and seemed to still be a little hungry and my other friend got two tacos and prob could have eaten more as well. Overall it was fine. I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for high quality Mexican food, but if you're looking for something quick and cheap I would say go for it.
