  1. Had the goat and potatoes (aloo) over white rice with a side of daal puri. Taste was ok, very lacking in flavor. Have had better. Have had worse. 2 stars.

  2. This place has very good food! From the curry to the roti to the polouri. I could sit and eat in there or take it to go. Their pepper isn't too spicy unless you ask for it.

This place has some serious goat curry. My mom gets jealous by how much I eat it, she actually tries to compete and make better curry at home. She succeeds sometimes.

This is authentic home cooked Guyanese food. It'll make you excited and feel like you're just at home.

The curry is so good I had to give this place a 4 star. The service is lacking, none of the workers look like they enjoy their job and they act like its a task when you ask for extra gravy or rice. But it's hard to give this place a 3 star.

  3. I can't believe I've never reviewed this place, I've gone here so many times and have ordered and enjoyed my food so many times I thought I must have left a review, guess I didn't.

If ever you're looking for a good home cooked meals at a decent price, go here! The staff for one is very friendly and always looking out for their customers. The food has never disappointed me and the place is very clean.

Finding parking is hard because it is a busy area but I'd you can go with someone and have them wait in the car then you'll be in and out in no time.

I'm a fan of their polourie and their roti is really good. One of the best west Indian spots we have locally.

  4. Unassuming little spot located on the busy strip of Jamaica Avenue near Hollis Court Blvd. They serve up what I'm told is "real authentic" Guyanese food. Seeing as I've never had the pleasure of sampling this cuisine, I went in with an open mind, wanting to see what the fuss was about.

I let my Guyanese friend do the ordering and we had freshly made roti with roasted eggplant (baigan choka). It was slightly smoky and had a hint of spice but was not overly hot. It was tasty enough and I may grow to appreciate it more as I get accustomed to the flavor profile. My friend loved it and he swears it's as homemade tasting as you'll get at a West Indian spot.

They also gave us a couple of pastries to sample and I was definitely impressed with those, especially the pine tart which was sweet and tangy and so wonderful warmed up! I may have to make quick pit stops just to grab those from time to time.

The staff are very friendly and eager to make you happy. They knew my buddy well so they took great care of us but they pleasantly interacted with everyone I saw them serve. It's possible that's because most of them seemed like regulars but they are probably regulars because of their consistent experience there.

I'm looking forward to another visit and trying out other dishes so I'm leaving some room for a higher rating.
