I love yummy sushi for 2 reasons. I only have had the sashmi not I mean the sashmi is super fresh and inexpensive. The staff is pleasant too.
Second reason, they allow me to swap out fish. So I don't like the red tuna so ask for extra salmon.
The service is good but normally when I go, there's none there which I like. So I sit at the bar. But I swear its the best kept secret.
Small closet sized sushi place close to where I live. Nothing amazing here. Just standard sushi and decent rolls at affordable prices. I have never eaten inside here but normally will drop by for take out. Rolls are usually fresh but nothing that will scream the word "creative" in your head. Sushi is decent but can be on the bland side. Salad with ginger dressing is usually crispy and satisfying, along with the soups.
Not a bad place if living close and need a quick drive-by sushi take home meal.
know its name sounds shady "yummy" sushi? cmon. but this place is actually really good and gives big portions for the price! their lunch specials are a steal. I got the shrimp tempura bento box once for $10 and it came with dumplings rice shrimp miso soup sushi salad etc.
tonight I got the salmon teriyaki entree delivered. came with miso soup and salad. 3 large chunks of salmon perfectly roasted and with very tasty not too overpowering teriyaki sauce on top, on top of a bed of sautéed veggies. mmmm! surprised by the large portions and popping flavor.
fast delivery too!
This review was based on seamless delivery. Ordered the salmon avocado and eel avocado rolls. Both solid but unspectacular. Relatively cheap for New York sushi (~$5 each).
Probably will not order again, but if you're looking for cheap rolls, not a bad option.
Stopped by the place because the boyfriend wanted to give it a try and it was nearby. I've had better sushi, truth be told. It's a tiny hole in the wall spot, and I assume they get little traffic since they're in a quiet part of Yorkville. The lack of customers worried me a little, and the negative reviews below scare me. We had no issues with the quality of the food- i think- but the flavor and freshness could be better.
Excellent take out sushi! Consistently fresh, excellent sashimi, hand rolls and maki rolls. Service is always prompt and the people are so funny and polite over the phone. I have only seen the storefront and it is on the smallish side so I've never eaten in there. But what I have received at my apartment has been consistently good and we have been ordering a variety of dishes for the last 4-5 months. The only exception is the miso soup which is bland. Every review of a sushi place in NYC has a few choads who post the same boring shit about getting sick, avoid, blah, blah. Ignore them and give this place a chance. There are shitheads on here who just like to write bad reviews, this is not a dive, the food is solid and they are a welcome addition to the neighborhood.
Average sushi joint. The sushi is decent, nothing special – usual selection of fish and rolls. Was glad to see an "A" rating.. they were a "B" for a long time. I come in for lunch specials. Lunch menu has a good variety from rolls, to sushi/sashimi, to ramen, to bento boxes.
