  1. Hungry with credit card and reluctant to go back out again, I ordered delivery from Yummy Sushi House via Seamless. Food came in 30 minutes. There was some confusion about paying for the food, and the delivery guy didn't speak English or Cantonese, so he kept speaking Mandarin pointing at the Seamless printout. I had to think about it in Mandarin, and then told him in my choppy Mandarin that I paid for it online already. Then it was a nod, and please sign the sheet, and he left.

The food was Green Dragon roll – Bland with an odd surge of wasabi here and there. The rice in the roll tasted old. The rice in the Chicken Teriyaki Bento tasted fresh however. The chicken Teriyaki tasted better than that roll, even though was liberally sprinkled with black pepper and the onions weren't caramelized. Oh well.

  2. I really really REALLY wanted to love this place, or even LIKE at the very least because it was so close to my friends place. Obviously, NOT the case! Being quite the sushi fanatic (I have sushi at least 3x a week, sometimes even twice a day…), I thought the reviews were ok so why not give takeout a go. My friend and I ordered on a Monday afternoon and the delivery time was fantastic so I was super giddy to unpack the food and just eat. We ordered a chicken teriyaki bento box (there is no shumai, they substitute with edamame), salmon avocado roll, spicy tuna roll, spicy yellowtail roll, and a seaweed salad. My two biggest sushi "no no's" were waiting for me inside that shiny black takeout box. I looked at the pictures on yelp and asked my friend if he noticed that some of the rolls had too much rice and decided to just order anyways. MISTAKE #1, yes…it really had too much rice! All I could see was white sushi rice, a hint of color from the fish, which I cannot even tell you if it tasted fresh or not cause it was such a small amount of fish. I literally had to peel off all the rice with my chopsticks. "No no" #2, spicy anything rolls should NOT just be the fish rolled in rice with spicy mayo on top. My spicy yellowtail was just a yellowtail roll with spicy mayo on top. It just defeats the purpose of ordering spicy rolls when I could simply order a yellowtail/salmon roll and ask for spicy mayo on the side. On top of that, the spicy mayo was dry, which meant it was sitting out for quite some time (BUT HOW COULD THIS BE IF THE DELIVERY TIME WAS SO QUICK?). The chicken from the bento box was not great either. I might have been bias because I was so upset about my rolls, but the chicken had that day after, left in my fridge all night taste to it. Not my cup of tea, so I decided to wash that down with their free miso soup. More like miso water in our case (ADD SOME SALT PEOPLE!! C'MON!). Atleast the seaweed salad was decent, but how hard is it to make that? Prices are decent, but I will not be coming back here even if I have to walk to the other sushi spots that do not deliver.

  3. This is a tiny little restaurant surrounded by authentic Chinese and Korean restaurants so it's nice to have a little diversity in the food choices.

This restaurant probably has a max capacity of around 20 patrons so don't expect to go here with a group larger than 4.

Sushi was ok. Service was ok.

Overall, everything was just ok. But with so many great Chinese/Korean choices around here, if you're really looking for good sushi, you might have to go into the city for some.

  4. Seems like a local take-out place.  Cleaner than your typical hole-in-the-wall restaurant.  Their menus for dining-in are take-out brochures and an old photo album they usually leave by the cash register.  They serve tea and miso soup in little plastic cups/bowls.  Miso soup was watered-down but their tea was good.  Sushi was fresh, which was the most important part!
