Zeppelin is a great place for large groups . Whether your looking for a Belgium beer , sitting outside in the beer garden , or watching the game and have some kielbasa.
Still Good! Aventinus is back and came with a large party and ordered the Family Platter. Check out the picture.
I've been to a few beer halls in my time. Being that I live fairly close to this beer hall, I wasn't particularly blown away besides that they have large real estate for drinking. Also, it maybe the only one that doesn't allow dogs in their back porch area, which is kind of disappointing as I need to leave her home.
I've eaten the food twice here and I didn't feel too well hours later so I'm definitely staying away from chowing down on any food moving forward. Just for reference, I split pretzel and burger with fries with my gf, which tasted great, but it's not worth the stomach pains after a day of fun day drinking.
Otherwise, you can get the same beer selection practically anywhere.
This was the third (ish) time that I have gone to the Biergarten, and like they say, third time was definitely the charm. I was never too thrilled with the loud drinkery, as I do not have an affinity to beer. But this last time, I was more hungry than thirsty, and engaged in the sampler with a few of my friends post dissatisfying dinner. All the different pieces came together to give me a better understanding of the place. The three different sausages were delectable– hot, meaty, and super savory. While the potato pancakes were a bit dry and cold, the giant pretzels were highly addictive and salty. The different salads had heat, brine, and crunch– all elements necessary to balance out the other components. It was a good time, but we managed to get out before the live music got too loud (not a fan of live music). I would go back for a hefty beer and a snack (or two).
Really disappointed. We've been here before and were last here for the Bacon Fest. At that time a few of the items we ordered weren't being served that evening, but we chalked it up to it being mid-week. This time, however, it was Father's Day and they just weren't on their game.
Zeppelin Hall was my husband's choice for Father's Day because of the garlic menu. 6 of us (Grandpa, Grandma, husband, 30 year old son, 13 year old daughter & I) got together to celebrate. We were far from being the only multi-generational group. There were plenty of others. We all sat out back. The people inside were watching soccer. The people outside were mostly families. Someone got the bright idea to start blasting pop music and you could collectively see all the Dads and Grandpas start to groan.
We arrived around 3:30. Everyone decided on what they wanted, and my son and I went up to the register to put in the order. I think we waited about a half hour to get all of the food.
Our buzzer went off, and three of us all went up to get the food. They did not make the mac and cheese sides or the potato salad sides so we didn't get them with the two meat platters. We had to wait for them to make more so we needed to get another buzzer. They also did not have any plastic forks out, and we had to wait for them to find them. We weren't the only ones missing sides – lots of people were ticked off and were handed buzzers to wait for the stuff.
The three guys all ordered knockwurst and immediately complained that it was keilbasa. My husband went up to question it but the young ladies working there insisted it was knockwurst. I don't think they'd recognize the difference. They kept insisting it was knockwurst, but they were wrong. You can see from the pictures that it was not knockwurst.
It was good for keilbasa, but that was it. My meat platter had the chicken, ribs & pulled pork. It was a bit dry so I went up & got a cup of Carolina bbq sauce. Grandma's platter had brisket & she didn't like it. It was shredded like pulled pork. She likes more traditional brisket.
My kids split the garlic mac and cheese. They liked it. The weird thing is that the sides of mac and cheese that were supposed to come with the meat platters (once we got them) were not good. They tasted very sour and were undercooked.
The mussels were good. They weren't great, but they were good. I like the cream sauce and yes there was a lot of garlic. They were small mussels but tasty. However, they were already cooling off by the time we got them.
My husband drank Hoegaarden, his favorite, and he was happy to do so.
I have to say that for the most part we were pretty disappointed. We've been there before and the food was better. I think it was better when we went for the bacon fest, even though they were out of certain dishes that night. I think the staff there today did not have a clue as to what was going on.
This place is great to come with a group of friends. Great location next to the light rail and there is some parking around, which is definitely a plus in good ol' JC.
Came on a Thursday night after work and turns out it's happy hour all night! Drinks were all between 2-3 bucks? Food is good, staff is friendly, and beers are cold….what else could u ask for 🙂
I would say the only really great part about this place is the fact that it has tons of outdoor spaces with a large amount of seating and a game room. Other than that this is just your everyday sports bar. It has no authentic feel at all. The beers aren't too exciting and the prices are moderate. The staff is not friendly at all and it seems like a real challenge to get any type of quick service at all. As I was leaving I tried to carry out a clear plastic cup of ice water. That was a big problem and j wasn't allowed to leave if I was still holding onto the cup. Seems a bit of overkill. Just trying to stay hydrated… But anyways. The food is nothing exciting. Not bad but I would not choose to come here for the quality. I had really high expectations because that was my first time at this bar and had heard a lot about it. I probably won't be back soon.
The weather was GORGEOUS and I just had to find a place where I could sit outside. I wasn't in the mood for a fancy restaurant and searched on Yelp for someplace close to home. I found Zeppelin. I don't drink beer and thought why the hell would I go to a beer garden but I'm so glad I did. Ive only been to one beer garden before in Astoria, Queens and remember it being packed on a summer night. I figured since the weather was nice this place would also be crowded. I arrived around 7:30 and it was pretty empty. I guess that was a good thing but I was looking forward to working on my introvert issues and talking and mingling with strangers.
When I first pulled up I thought I was at the wrong place. It actually looked like a fancy restaurant from the outside. But once you walk in, and go past security (who stopped us for about 15 minutes to ask my b/f about the guitar pic necklace he had on), the place is HUGE and very much a beer garden. Long, wood community tables in every room. there is an outdoor an indoor section both which are quite big. I saw a stage in one of the bigger indoor rooms.
You go to a counter to order your food and you are given a pager to let you know when the food is done. We sat outside while our food was getting ready. Again it was pretty empty (maybe I had just missed the after work crowd?).
Once our food was ready we decided to sit inside. They were already out of a few items like the brisket and shrimp when we ordered. We decided on the meat sampler with (chicken, sausage and pulled pork) and the pork ribs. We had corn pudding, mac and cheese and french fries with vinegar as a side. where have i been that i've never had french fries with vinegar?!! so yummy. All the food was good and very flavorful. The corn pudding was amazing! wish it were a bigger size!
I was happy that they had vodka available and would definitely come back here!
