“Great service, great food, great price – can't beat a BYOB with the food and service to match.”

“I particularly loved how one of our rolls had thin slices of jalapeño with a dot of hot sauce on top.”

“Especially with the happy hour deal, I believe it's from 4-7pm but everything is half off!”

  1. NOT BYOB.

Came in at 8:30pm on a Saturday…and they were out of chicken and unable to make pad thai or fried rice. Also they didn't mention that to us until after they finally asked to take our order 20 minutes after being seated.

Interior is not great, service is slow, unhelpful and unfriendly.

Don't be let down and go somewhere else (farmhouse across the street is great!), then we'll speed up the process of them closing down and a new restaurant moving in.

  2. Rolls, rolls, and more rolls

    This place is AWESOME.

First, I will say that the service here is top notch, because the waitresses are fast, friendly and efficient. It seemed like our used plates never stayed on the table too long.

The food is reasonably priced, especially for the area. I kind of did the standard fare of having a three maki roll combo. I kind of wished that I had gone out of the box and ordered something completely different but I was starving and wanted something that I knew. My friend and I shared the Rainbow Layer, as an appetizer, which reminded me of a rainbow roll without the rice. The sushi was decent quality and fresh.

One thing that I did not care for is that the restaurant is small – maybe about 15 tables. I'm used to dinning in small quarters in NYC, but other people may not like this. I mean, you pretty much will be eating with your neighbors. Also, this means that there may be a long wait for a table.

Tip 1: Free edemame with a Yelp check in.
Tip 2: A pitcher of Sapporo is 10 bucks, compared to 4 bucks a glass. So, supersize your beer.

  3. Awesome lunch special! They have lots of options for the lunch special menu. I ordered the 3 rolls. It came with soup and salad all for $12. For my rolls, I got the spicy salmon, spicy white tuna, and salmon avocado roll. These were pretty big rolls and I was really stuffed after. My only compliant is there was a bit too much crunch in the spicy rolls but not a big deal. I will probably ask them to not add any in the next time I go. I came here with 6 other coworkers and what I noticed was that they were able to deliver all our food to the table at the same time. No one had to wait and we all could eat at the same time. Everyone was super full when we left.

  4. Totally affordable japanese food with many fun rolls in the lower east side.  also have sashimi and all the usual sushi specials. I  heard the happy hour is amazing but given the amazing price- be prepared to wait or just come early.   Enjoy!

  5. I love this place and have been so many times because I live in the LES!  They don't take reservations for happy hour, but come early and only in small groups.  Everything from sushi, to tempura, to appetizers is $3.50 during happy hour, and this is a deal you can't beat!  Also, make sure to Check-In on Yelp, because you get free edamame. As if this place couldn't get any better, it's BYOB. I always bring a bottle of wine to have with my meal, but when I forget, fear not, they have $10 pitchers of Sapporo! By no means is this top-grade sushi, but it's good enough for me and keeps me coming back! One of the waitresses knows me by face already and always greets me so warmly whenever I come! I'll never get sick of this place and really need to come for their all day happy hour on the weekends!

  6. 3.5 stars but rounded down for the long waits for what amounts to be just standard Japanese take out food.

Came here a little while ago for dinner with 3 of my friends. We ended up having to wait for a table for about half an hour or so, but this was also on a Friday night. Yelp has a check-in offer for some free edamame, so we all managed to snag that deal, which was nice. I got a few of their veggie rolls for my meal, which were just okay. I suppose that judging an entire restaurant off of some standard fare wouldn't be a good reflection, but I just felt underwhelmed by my experience overall.

  7. For the Manhattan prices I wasn't all that impressed by this place. It was REALLY crowded on Friday night at 9 PM. Decent atmosphere though, just small.

We ordered the calamari – it was cooked well, but the breading tasted like th exact same breading you would find on a mozz stick…which was really weird.

I also got the golden gate (special roll ($10) and a california roll ($5). The cali roll was good but I was not impressed by the special roll. It tasted very artificial to me. Something was just a little off.

We also got an $18 bottle of wine, which was fine.

    Service was OK.

I don't know if I would go back. But maybe.

  8. 1st time here and we closed the place down last week.
    I will be back!!!
