  1. Fantastico! Two friends of mine took me here on  a Saturday night. The dining room is small but very well decorated with nice paintings. As soon as we walked in I met the owner, Totò, and we started talking in Italian. The atmosphere is warm and very welcoming. It felt like being in Italy again. I was impressed. The place was packed, however, Danny, our waiter, immediately took our drink orders and provided us the best service. The menu was variegated and most of the items were written in Italian. My 'penne Zio Totò' was amazing, but what I liked most was the homemade panna cotta. I was pleased to see they have Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, one of my favorite wines. Tutto buonissimo! I have to say this place deserves 5 stars. If you can really appreciate the authentic Italian cuisine, you definitely have to stop by this place. Ci ritornerò presto!

  2. This spot is authentic Italian and I loved it. It's more of a date spot (dim lights, soothing music, wine wine wine!!!) but also great if you actually want to have a conversation you can hear over dinner. The service was really attentive; chivalry is not dead at all at this place. And the food was awesome! The penne vodka was so creamy and mouth-watering – highly recommend.

  3. I was really impressed with this place! I found it on Yelp, of course.

Everyone was actually Italian – which is a good sign. Also, everyone was friendly and welcoming.

It had the REAL Italian/family feel to it.

They had bread on the table, so delicious.

I ordered a special salad for my appetizer. It was hands-down the best salad I've ever had. It had baby spinach, some amazing sweet dressing, tomatoes, strawberries, apples and goat cheese….I just kept saying "wow" every bite.

I had the penne vodka as my entree, which was also exceptional. I had leftovers – everything was sooo good but I wanted to have a midnight snack on hand.

My boyfriend and I split the chocolate mousse for dessert and it was also amazing. So rich and full of flavor. Beautiful presentation.

I took away one start because I was hoping for some more pasta dish options. There were a TON of entrees listed, like veal and chicken, but I am more of a pasta person and I like a lot of options.

Overall, I look forward to coming back.

  4. The excellence in food and comfort in Zio Toto has earned those pretty stars !

Zio Toto is a small but inviting Italian restaurant that serves one of the best thin crust pizzas! Sandwiched  on 3rd avenue- this cozy spot serves authentic Sicilian dishes. My friend and I did not make a reservation ( Which I highly recommend ) but we were lucky enough to score some seats. Business was booming with families and couples celebrating their weekend with good food. The waiter was attentive and always made sure we had refills and a clean table.

My friend and I shared the Fritto Misto appetizer which was full of flavor and surprisingly filling! Along with our appetizer the bread basket had fresh warm bread.
For my main course I ordered a simple Margherita Pizza,  And oh my–So fresh !!! The crust was perfection, the right amount of sauce and  cheese portion and fresh basil. I was genuinely impressed with the menu.

This is a great place to have a romantic candlelit dinner or go with your family to celebrate a birthday. The price is worth the food — except the salad which is tiny for your buck. But my main course was that good I won't even lower those stars.
Such an awesome spot, check it out!

  5. Let's not play games. We both know you came here solely for the Dessert pizza aka Nutella Paradise, but you still got to eat a dinner before you can have dessert! Thankfully, Zio Toto doesn't disappoint in this category either.
I absolutely love the extra Virgin olive oil by the table, as well as the olive soaked oil they bring over. Amazing. This is a star in itself.
The Pollo Martini (Parmesan-crusted chicken in a lemon Pinot Grigio sauce) is a good choice–the sauce was right on and so were the potatoes. The vegetable medley (carrots and broccoli) did not have any flavor, BUT an 8 out of 10 is still an 8.
We also tried the gnocchi which was delicious and delightfully soft, definitely would recommend! I have heard good things about the pizza as well.
The dessert pizza is Nutella-filled, topped with strawberries and a scoop of ice cream. In my opinion, the crust could have Been a little thicker–it resembles more of a pizza cracker–and the ice cream scoop could have been a little bigger. But all in all, it certainly is the right choice of dessert.
A cozy place for a quiet Sunday dinner. I definitely will be returning!

  6. Came here last minute last night for dinner. Affordable, yummy & their nutella pizza is INSANITY. Def a great local spot!

  7. This place is truly a gem! Im so happy i stumbled across this place with my girlfriends after being so hungry and tired from a crazy week of work, as soon as i passed by this place, i saw that there was only one table of people , but something about this place seemed very warm and inviting and very welcoming, just the atmosphere is what drew my attention. I wanted a quiet relaxing dinner to catch up with my girls and satisfy my big appetite. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a very friendly gentleman who got us glasses of water and baskets of bread with a hint of garlic ( which was fresh and warm) and some oil and olives to dip. The lights in the place were dim, and the walls had very nice art pieces and gorgeous wooden tables, you could tell they put a lot of thought into decorating it. The menu itself is straightup italian with plenty of popular dishes from fried calamaris and antipasto salad and ceaser salad along with plenty of
    Pasta dishes like penne ala
Vodka or ziti and linguine dishes with chicken or veal, also had a section of raviolis and gnocchi, there was so many options to choose from it took me forever to make a decision. Ugh how could i even forget to mention the last page with all the brick oven pizzas, i definetly was drooling. They had tons of fancy pizza pies from pizza with prosciutto along with margherita pizzas and tomato and basil toppings, and mushrooms, the list goes on. The prices were ridiculously
Good too. For the size of
Those large pies they ranged from 12-16 dollars depending on how many toppings you got. I choose the arrabiata pie and i was determined to eat that whole pie by myself, it had a spice to it in the sauce and the ham and basil
I got on top was cripsy it was perfect. The pie itself is large but its not drowning in cheese and the crust is a bit on the thin side so it doesnt feel so heavy. They of course brought me the spices like crushed red pepper flakes and oregano right away and the pizza had a hint of
Garlic already so i didnt even need to put anymore. My girls got chicken ceaser salads which is nothing a person would never rave about on average but they literally ate the whole
Salads which were huge with chunks of grated
Cheese on top and grilled chicken with great seasoning , they practically licked the plates clean, best part is the food came in 20
Minutes so the wait time shocked me. At the end the bill
Came out to 50 bucks for the pie and two salads ( there is a extra charge for chicken in the salads). And we gave a generous tip because the waiters there are super friendly and actually take their jobs seriously . They take both cash or credit and they dont charge tip or gratuity automatically to the bill. Next time i come here my
Goal is to try their tasty looking dessert menu ( those tiramisu and panna cottas looked good at the other table) and they got
Fancy selections of wines:). Oh and to wrap
Up my review, their fancy bathroom
With marble and wooden floors are spotless and well kept despite being unisex. Over all great success!!!

  8. Oh..yeah..forgot to write this review.
A friend had recommended this place to me a few weeks ago.
I partially dismissed the recommendation, but found myself going a few days later.
Best fried shrimp panini I've ever had. Ok, it's the only one I've ever had, but was regretting my selection after I had dropped my order.  For once, I picked the winner on this menu, and didn't need to scrounge off my partner's plate.
Every single bite of this sandwich was amazing, without exaggeration.  I could have easily taken half home for a second meal, but it was so good, I couldn't do that.  Excellent, and professional service on an uncrowded weekday lunch.
    Very nice place.
